My kids are pretty lucky and get to participate in both a trunk-or-treat through our church a few nights before Halloween and then regular trick-or-treating on the actual night. It adds up to double the fun, but way too much candy! I must admit that I can’t keep my hands out of their treat buckets, so to save my waistline, I’ve thought many times about taking it to our dentist’s annual “Candy Buy-Back”. When it boils down to it, though, I just can’t bring myself to steal candy from a kid. So I let the chocolate sit there and call my name all day and then I answer to it, way too often until it is no more. 🙂
So goes the story of my torturous yet tasty week following Halloween. Curse you Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups!
Last year for the trunk-or-treat I made some simple teeth, eyes, and a tongue out of cardboard. It was about all I could come up with half an hour before the event. 🙂 A little forethought goes a long way, apparently, as you’ll see below. I’ve included some easy but cute ideas for the last minute trunk decorators like me, and some that are a little more elaborate but oh-so-cool if you have the time to pull it off. Who knows, maybe your car will be the talk of the party this year!
