We went to school each day with a homemade breakfast in our tummies and came home to dinner baking in the oven and a fun snack awaiting our consumption. She taught us all to play the piano and instilled in me my love for music. I don’t think she ever raised her voice, and she was always cheerful, even amidst the noise and sibling rivalry that often abounded. She is seriously amazing. Especially now that I am a mother myself, I have a deeper gratitude and appreciation for all that she did for our family growing up. It takes a very patient, selfless lady to devote her life to raising 14 children, and I love her for that.
