Christmas goodie plates just wouldn’t be complete without a hefty helping of this decadent, rich Chocolate Mint Fudge! If you’ve got an extra five minutes, you can make this! Everyone will beg you for the recipe!
There are a few goodie regulars that always make an appearance on my gift platters and this fudge is one of them. Everyone begs for the recipe and looks forward to receiving it each December.
Once you try it, you’ll know why!
I attended a holiday baking demonstration a few years back at my church and my friend Wendy shared this phenomenal recipe, which was originally her Grandmother’s, Marilyn Haupt. It’s become a best-loved Christmas tradition at our house ever since!
I asked Wendy if it was ok if I shared this recipe with you and she kindly agreed.
I can’t let the season pass without making this at least two or three times! And, I make about five batches for our neighbor plates each December too! But, what I love about it, is that it’s not stressful at all to put together, is pretty much fail-proof, requires no candy thermometer, and is done in about five minutes! No joke!
So you can spend less time in the kitchen slaving away and more time enjoying this festive season with the ones you love!
I can’t think of a more perfect holiday dessert!
Chocolate and mint were meant to be together, don’t you think?!
I’m a sucker for a big, thick piece of soft, rich chocolate! There’s nothing to me that says it’s Christmas time quite like a hunk of mint fudge!
Everyone will come crawling back for seconds and thirds, and maybe a glass of milk too! 🙂
5 Minute Chocolate Mint Fudge
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 2/3 c. evaporated milk
- 1 1/2 c. miniature marshmallows
- 1 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg or 12 oz. Ande's Mint Baking Chips
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts optional
Instructions
- Combine butter, evaporated milk, sugar and salt in a 2 1/2 quart sauce pan. Cook and stir continuously over medium low heat. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Cook 4 minutes, while stirring vigorously (start timing when mixture starts to bubble around pan edge). Don't overcook. Remove from heat. Add marshmallows, vanilla, mint chips, and nuts (optional). Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows and mint chips are completely melted and blended well. Pour into a 9 inch square buttered or greased pan (I like to line mine with foil and spray it). Allow to cool, then lift foil from pan and cut into squares. Store at room temperature. Enjoy!
This stuff is seriously the best! I made this recently for a Favorite Things Party and when my one friend tried it, she paid me a really sweet compliment by telling me that she’s super picky about her fudge, but that she LOVED it. Her words were a huge pat on the back.
**If I could offer you a few tips to make this turn out perfect every time, the first is to not overcook! As per the instructions, begin the 4 minute timer as soon as the mixture starts to bubble (even a little) around the pan edge. Stir it like crazy so it doesn’t burn. Think of it as your daily arm workout. 🙂 You’re welcome! And, lastly, make sure to have all of your ingredients ready and measured beforehand because this comes together in a hurry!
I can’t wait for you to try this! You’re going to be singing praises (or maybe in this case, Christmas carols)! 🙂
