Fall is just around the corner and apples are in season, so put together this yummy Applesauce Sheet Cake and enjoy!
One of the things I most look forward to about the fall season are all the delicious apple and pumpkin desserts! I literally crave them all year round, but for some reason it’s not socially acceptable to make pumpkin bread in the summer, so I don’t, haha!
I love when apples come into season! It brings back fond memories of my days working at the country store next to the orchard. We sold a huge variety of apples, and I loved them all! Those fresh apples taste like candy! People would flock in and buy them by the bushels! The shelves cleared quickly! The fresh apple cider was to die for! My mouth is watering, just typing about it. 🙂
My mom used to make apple pie in the fall when we had lots of apples around. Oh, how I loved that! I think it’s safe to say that I’m an apple dessert fanatic!
Last spring, I shared the recipe for this Carrot Cake Sheet Cake and it went wild! You all love your sheet cakes! So I knew I wanted to put together a fall version that was every bit as delicious!
I incorporated applesauce and wonderful spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Oh, and don’t forget the fresh little apple pieces that are speckled throughout! They are fun and yummy surprises for the taste buds!
Then, to finish it all off, I slathered it in a cream cheese frosting that has a hint of cinnamon in it. All of this combined is absolute perfection! My family couldn’t stop eating it! We had plenty to share with neighbors and friends too! That’s what I love about sheet cakes!
