Banana Split Dessert Crackers

Banana Splits are meant to be enjoyed on crispbread! A fluffy cheesecake cloud piled high with sliced bananas, fudge and caramel topping, chopped pecans and a jolly red maraschino cherry to finish it off prettily. These are completely irresistible and perfect for a party platter!

Oh boy, have I got a treat in store for you today! Who says a banana split needs to be eaten in a bowl? Not me! Today’s recipe is proof that enjoying delicious dessert classics creatively is always a win!

I remember, growing up, our New Year’s Eve celebrations consisted of lots of appetizers and pizza with banana splits to top off the evening before we started playing games.  It’s funny, because I don’t recall ever eating an ice cream split unless it was at this particular annual celebration.  I’m not sure why, because something that yummy should be devoured as often as possible. 🙂

It could have been because my parents felt like something this exceptional needed to be reserved for just such a special occasion.

I, however, take a completely different stance on the topic. Banana splits for breakfast, lunch and dinner is my motto!

These dessert crackers are the perfect way to satisfy that sweet tooth craving with a little less guilt. 🙂

Wasa Multi Grain crisp bread creates the perfect canvas for our gorgeous masterpiece.  These thick crisp slices are full of four wholesome grains (rye, wheat, oats and barley), which add a delicious texture and flavor to each crunchy bite.

I found mine at Smith’s on the cookies and crackers aisle.  Be sure to look for Rosemary & Sea Salt Wasa Thins and Sesame & Sea Salt Wasa Thins at your local Kroger or Kroger banner store too!  They’re low on calories, oven-baked for a light, delicate crunch, and packed with whole grains!

Wasa crisp bread is a low calorie way to snack that’s high in fiber, kosher, and doesn’t contain preservatives. So basically there’s no reason we shouldn’t be contentedly munching on these banana split-topped dessert crackers!

Talk about an impressive potluck offering! These will disappear quickly no matter the significant occasion or futile excuse you dream up to serve them. 🙂 I won’t blame you for making a midnight snack of them while binge watching that favorite television show. Heck, I’d even commend you for indulging after a crazy, dramatic morning of getting the kids off to school (hey, it happens), or even whipping one up as a celebratory gesture for making it through a long week. This is total pat-yourself-on-the-back food!

I just love simple desserts that look fancy and like you made a big fuss over putting them together!  This is definitely one of those confections that is easy on the eyes and oh-so incredible on the palate.
