Cauldron Candy

Fill some treat bags with this Cauldron Candy or serve it at a Halloween party for a fun and spooky dessert everyone will howl about!

It’s Halloween season and I love it! Because this is our favorite holiday, our family makes the most of every day of October, leading up to the last day of the month. We even have a “Countdown to Candy” that the kids change every day to keep track. 🙂

We have fun traditions like decorating the house with spiders and ghosts, visiting the pumpkin patch, making cute crafts, watching scary movies, playing games like this Spooky “I Spy” and Pumpkin Pictionary and enjoying festive foods like these Pumpkin Krispies Treats and these Halloween Oreo Cake Bars.

I have to admit that I am always so sad to see Halloween go!

I keep a mini scrapbook where I paste a photo of the kids each year all decked out in their costumes. The kids love to look at it and reminisce about the memories behind each one.

We always love to attend the fall festival at the kids’ school and our church fall party. Basically we look forward to any opportunity to wear our costumes! 🙂

On Halloween night, since we live in the mountains and don’t have many close neighbors, we head out to trick-or-treat with friends in the town nearby.

When I found a cauldron in my Halloween decorations bin, I was inspired to make this fun and festive Cauldron Candy! I just imagine a witch brewing up a special concoction with “eye of a crow”, goblin warts, swamp moss, pumpkin guts and such.

My version of her concoction translates into colored chocolate candies, Halloween sprinkles, candy eyes, and orange, green and purple candy melts all spilled over onto a graham cracker base. It’s so yummy and makes the perfect Halloween party treat! Put it in a cute mini plastic cauldron and serve it to the kids as an after school snack!

It comes together so easily and quickly:

Lay out your graham crackers, then drizzle with candy melts. Lastly add sprinkles, candy eyes, and chocolate candies.

Ingredients

  • 12-15 graham crackers
  • 1/2 c. green candy melts
  • 1/2 c. purple candy melts
  • 1 c. purple candy melts
  • Halloween colored chocolate candies
  • Halloween sprinkles
  • Candy Eyeballs

Instructions

  • Lay graham crackers out on a rimmed cookie sheet so they're touching each other, about four to each row. You can fill in the empty space by breaking the crackers, if you'd like.
  • Melt green candy melts in the microwave, stir until smooth, then drizzle over the graham crackers. Do the same for the purple candy melts, and finish with the orange candy melts.
  • Immediately sprinkle with candy eyes, chocolate candies and Halloween sprinkles. Place the cookie sheet in the fridge just until the candy melts have fully set. Remove and let it come to room temperature, then use a butter knife to carefully break it into large pieces. Place the pieces in mini cauldrons for serving.

I’m sure this will become a Halloween time tradition, at least it will for us! So simple, so delicious!
