Chocolate Whopper candies atop a decadent fudge frosting and soft, malt bar base. This treat is melt-in-your-mouth good!
It’s so funny, (well, I have to laugh so I won’t cry), because my mom puts all her desserts in the fridge before enjoying them, sometimes the freezer. It used to drive me crazy, growing up. Cookies are supposed to be eaten melty, right out of the oven, or at the very least at room temperature. Don’t you think?!
Chocolate cake is not meant to be partaken of in a totally solid state. This Cracker Barrel Coca-Cola Cake is proof of that. It is at its prime right out of the oven with a river of chocolate frosting oozing over the sides and a scoop of melty vanilla ice cream running down.
She’d even buy bags of mini chocolates and keep them in the freezer. They were no temptation to me because I didn’t want to risk breaking my teeth. Plus, they were completely tasteless frozen. Eewww!!! And who wants to wait an hour while a piece of chocolate thaws? I don’t have that kind of patience or self control!
Please tell me you don’t do the same thing or we can’t be friends. Haha!
Just kidding. We would just have to agree to disagree on the matter or never discuss it. Ha!
I mean, look at these scrumptiously-soft and gooey bars with that indulgent chocolate icing! Just think how quickly the yummy factor would decrease if we had to keep them in the fridge. It should be a crime!
I made these while visiting my family for my brother’s wedding. I love to bake up a storm when I get to my parent’s house. Possibly because there are lots of hungry mouths there to share the gazillion calories with before I inhale everything myself. 🙂
It’s always a good time at my childhood home if I can quickly cringe, possibly even shudder, and then move past the putting chocolates in the freezer thing. 🙂
One of my favorite candies and indulgences has always been chocolate whoppers (a.k.a malted milk balls). I could eat them by the bucket full! Don’t judge.
These bars actually have malted milk powder in them, along with malted milk ball chunks. And there are no words for the quick fudge frosting! I almost took a spoon to the bowl.
Does it get any better? I think not!
These things will fly right out of the pan!
