Christmas Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie

This Christmas Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie is so festive and delicious! A soft and chewy cookie that’s topped with Christmas baking chips and chocolate chips and then baked in a skillet to perfection! Serve each slice by itself or with vanilla ice cream on top!

We are getting so excited about the coming of Christmas, at our house. This month always flies by! So I try to really make a point of having a little plan for each day of something fun we can do to get in the Christmas spirit as a family. Soon we’ll be heading to see the light display that our city puts on each year at the botanical gardens.

We’ve been watching Christmas movies galore, and I’m loving it! It’s such a cozy, sweet experience to put on the Christmas pjs and fuzzy socks and snuggle up together on the couch while watching Polar Express or Home Alone. Last week, the kids were begging me to make cookies, so I switched it up a bit and made a Christmas Skillet Cookie instead!

This one is so amazing! There are semi-sweet chocolate chips in the dough and then pressed into the top. Then, I pressed stocking and Christmas tree pieces on top as well.  You could add any festive chocolate candy of your choosing.

My kids went crazy for this cookie! I love skillet cookies because they’re so simple and quick to make! Just mix up the dough, spread it into the skillet, and bake! No rolling out dough balls or cutting out shapes! Just make sure you bake it to perfection so it will be chewy and delicious and not dry! Check it regularly while it’s baking and pull it out when it’s set up, but not overly brown.

If you want it to be more of a pazookie, you’ll want to underbake it by a few minutes so it’s nice and gooey-yummy! Then make sure to add some ice cream on top and enjoy it while the cookie is warm!

I love Christmas cookies, and this one tastes almost too good to be true! It’s your favorite chocolate chip cookie, but on a grander scale! Because chocolate chip cookies are always better when they’re bigger. 🙂 Simply slice and enjoy! Your taste buds will celebrate with each bite!

Are you as obsessed with cookies as I am? If so, then you need to try this incredible Christmas skillet cookie! I made my favorite chocolate chip cookie dough, then added a Christmas flare with festive baking chips! I can’t wait to make this again! My family made a disappearing act of it. 🙂

Bake one up for a Christmas day treat! You’ll be so glad that you did! Or make one up and give Santa a big slice on the night of Christmas Eve. He’ll go back to the North Pole and sing your praises to the elves! Or, make this cookie for your New Year’s Eve celebration!

You’re going to love this! I hope you are feeling the wonders of this season! I don’t want it to end! We had our first snow the other day and now I’m really hoping we’ll have a white Christmas! It’s so magical out there. Fingers crossed!

Servings 10 -12 cookie slices

Ingredients

  • 1 c. 2 sticks salted butter, softened
  • 1 c. packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • Scant 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Additional semi-sweet chocolate chips and "Trees and Stockings White Creme Chips" for topping

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream together butter, sugars, vanilla and eggs until well-combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt and baking soda. Add to wet mixture, along with the chocolate chips, and mix just until combined.
  • Spread/press the dough into a nonstick, OVEN-SAFE skillet (approximately 11 1/2" in diameter).
  • Sprinkle and press additional semi-sweet chocolate chips and Trees and Stockings White Creme Chips on top.
  • Bake for approximately 14-17 minutes, or just until set and not too brown. If you want it to be more of a pazookie (on the gooey side, you'll want to underbake it by a few minutes).
  • Let cool slightly, then slice and serve (with ice cream or by itself).

I hope you have a joyous Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
