Dreamy Fudge Striped Cookie Dessert

This Dreamy Fudge Striped Cookie Dessert is very aptly named.  It’s fluffy and sweet and every bite is a little piece of heaven!

Just a warning…you may not want to make this unless you are prepared to indulge big time, or unless you have lots of mouths to share it with, because this dessert is addicting!

We make this for potlucks and summer BBQ’s…you name it! Every time, it gets devoured and every time people beg for the recipe!

Don’t be thrown off by addition of buttermilk…it adds an amazing and important flavor!

The original recipe on Cooks.com calls it a “salad”, but I think that’s just a crime, considering its ingredients.  Don’t get me wrong…I love me some sugary goodness, but I just don’t want you to get a false idea about this.  It is definitely a dessert, and a wonderful one at that.

Who doesn’t love fudge striped cookies, cool whip, pudding and little mini oranges?  The ingredients are a fantastic combination of flavor.

It’s a perfect side dish that acts as a dessert! The flavors and ingredient combo in this are absolutely phenomenal! I love how quickly this Fudge Striped Cookie Dessert comes together and how creamy and incredible it is!

Try it and let me know what you think!

Ingredients

  • 3 oz. package instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 8 oz. carton Cool Whip
  • 15 oz. can mandarin oranges drained
  • 2 sections Fudge Striped Cookies crushed (about 10-14 cookies)

Instructions

  • Whisk together pudding and buttermilk.  Fold in Cool Whip, mandarin oranges, and one row of Fudge Striped Cookies, crushed.  Spread into a serving bowl or dish.  Sprinkle another row of cookies that's been crushed on top. Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

This always disappears in a hurry wherever we bring it! You’ll be hooked at bite one!

I'm thinking maybe this would taste awesome frozen. And possibly in a graham cracker crust. :)

That would be good, Dani! I bet you could make a crust with the fudge-striped cookies. I'm totally going to try that.
