Who’s ready for Game Time? I’ve got a fabulous Cheesy Taco Dip today that’s sure to be the hit of your party!
To tell you the truth, my family is not among the die-hard football fans. My husband played in high school, but we rarely watch it on TV unless one of our favorite teams has made it to the playoffs. That being said, however, we LOVE a good party. If ever we’re invited to a Game Day celebration, we go bearing good things to eat and have the time of our lives laughing and cheering our team on with friends.
I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that it’s pretty much all about the food to me. 🙂 I love the sliders, pizza, veggie trays and of course the ice cream and other sweet confections. But one of the things I most look forward to has got to be the chips and dip. To me they are an absolute MUST at any football party. Do you agree?
There are so many Fun and Festive dip varieties out there, but if you’re in need of a tasty, simple recipe, be sure to Satisfy your crowd’s craving with one of the many savory options featured on Sam’s Club.
Your most basic, yet yummy cheese dip can involve a can of Hormel® Chili without beans and a one-pound package of Velveeta. Warm all together until the cheese melts, and, voila!
Here’s another photo that caught my eye on the site. Doesn’t this Queso Burger look phenomenal?!?
Drool. Just another way to use Velveeta to create a one-of-a-kind meal.
This past weekend, I created a spin-off of the basic chili cheese dip discussed above, but took it up a few notches for an extra zing of flavor.
Tacos are another favorite Game Day (and really any day) food, so I added the goodness of the delightful things into a very cheesy and oh-so-addicting dip. The result is the ultimate snacker’s delight.
{GAME DAY CHEESY TACO DIP}
1/3 lb. ground beef
1/2 of a large onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tsp. taco seasoning
1 can (15 oz.) Hormel® Chili with beans
1 can(10 oz.) Rotel Original with Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies
1 lb. Original Velveeta, diced into cubes
Cook beef with onion and garlic, breaking up, until no longer pink. Drain fats and discard. Add taco seasoning to meat and stir until coated. Add Chili, Rotel and Velveeta cubes. Stir over medium-low heat until heated through and cheese is melted completely. Serve warm with tortilla chips.
It’s a one-pan wonder! Our family gives it two thumbs way up…a definite touchdown!
I hope you like it as much as we do!
What’s your favorite Game Day food?Be sure to keep up with the Fun and Festive party that’s always happening at Velveeta!
