If you’re headed to a spooky party and need a quick and incredible festive treat to share, these Halloween Cream Cheese Brownies are just the thing! They’ll be devoured before you can snap your finger!
This time of year is so crazy! There are so many fun activities going on. The kids are all going on field trips to the pumpkin patch and having fun class parties. And not to mention the community, church, and school Halloween bashes there will be to attend! Which means there are plenty of excuses ahead to whip up these phenomenal brownies! You will gasp at how simple they are to put together!
They start with a boxed brownie mix (which, next to these Cosmic Brownies, is my favorite type of brownie). And then you spread on the most delicious orange cream cheese layer, sprinkle with additional brownie batter and Halloween sprinkles, then bake to perfection!
I altered the recipe on the back of the brownie box, so be sure to follow the instructions below. I just love some good melted butter in my brownies! These are fudgy and dense, which is a welcome contrast with the smooth and creamy orange layer above it. And then the topping has a slight crunch. The three textures combined are nothing short of divine!
This makes an 8×8″ size pan, so if you’re headed to a large gathering, you may want to make it in bulk! You can cut one slab into 9 to 12 pieces, depending on how big you’d like them to be.
These are seriously so dreamy and amazing! They are probably tied with these Halloween Oreo Cake Bars for my favorite Halloween time treat ever! My kids are getting so excited to put on their costumes and head to their annual school story book parade, fall festival and of course trick=or-treating! I love that they have so many opportunities to dress up!
My daughter has put so much work into making a Minecraft dragon costume, but since they can’t wear masks at school, she will only be wearing that one on the night of Halloween. My other kids will be Doctor Who, a Ladybug, and a Power Ranger. 🙂 I always enjoy seeing how their different interests and sometimes obsessions turn into costumes each year.
I look forward to Halloween every year because it’s the all time best holiday, at least in my book. But now I’m going to be even more excited for it, because these Halloween Cheesecake Brownies are surely going to be a part of our annual October celebrations!
Do you have a Halloween dessert that you love to make each year? These Pumpkin Krispies Treats are another fun tradition the kids and I have in the kitchen during this month! I think I’ll be making these brownies at least another six times before Halloween comes! They are that good!

Halloween Cream Cheese Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 box 18.3 oz. fudge brownie mix (use Betty Crocker so the ounces match)
- 5 Tbsp. butter melted
- 1 large egg
- Cream cheese layer:
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/3 c. sugar
- 1 large egg
- Orange food coloring 4-6 drops
- Halloween sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and line an 8x8" baking dish with foil or parchment paper so it overlaps over the sides. If using foil, lightly spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, mix together dry brownie mix, melted butter and egg until incorporated. Mixture will be slightly crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup of the brownie mixture and set aside for the topping. Press the remaining mixture into the prepared pan.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer, cream together cream cheese, vanilla extract, sugar, egg and orange food coloring until smooth and no lumps remain. Spread over brownie layer, sprinkle with reserved 1/2 c. brownie mixture and Halloween sprinkles, then bake for approximately 30 minutes, or just until cream cheese layer is set (it's not jiggly or runny, it will get puffy). Let it cool for 1 hour at room temperature, then refrigerate it for about one hour, carefully lift it from the pan, slice and serve.
What fun Halloween parties will you be attending this month? I’d love to hear and I hope these scrumptious brownies will make an appearance at them!
