I don’t know about you, but I’m getting STOKED for the Winter Olympic Games to begin!! I can’t believe the opening ceremonies are today! Eek! I can’t wait!!I love to watch all the events, but probably my favorite is the Freestyle Skiing. I’m a skiier myself (albeit not a great one), but I really appreciate and am completely awed by the amazing things people have the ability and the guts to do on a snowy hill! It really is incredible the athletic talent that some individuals possess.
My kids really get into watching the games with us as well. We try to explain the rules of the sports and what’s going on as it happens. It’s so fun to sit together as a family and take part in the national pride that is so apparent during this time.
We were invited to a Family Winter Olympic Game Night with a bunch of friends and unfortunately were unable to attend because my daughter ended up getting sick. But that got the wheels in my head turning, so I set out to find some fun activities to do with the kids here at home to get them excited for the Games.
I hope these ideas will help you out as well, in having a wonderful and memorable Olympic experience with your family!
