Party Decorations…DIY Decorative Paper Medallions

It’s my birthday!  And my daughter’s is in just three days.  So we’re celebrating big-time this week at I Dig Pinterest!  Each day I’ll be sharing a fabulous party idea from decorations to invitations to the most important thing (at least in my book)…the cake.

I’m kicking off Day One with these fun, easy-to-make paper medallions…a perfect party decoration.

{SUPPLIES}

Hot Glue
12×12 Paper
wooden dowels
circle punch
paper cutter
A big button (not shown above.  Sorry!)

Cut your paper into three strips of equal width.  Your width determines how big your ending medallion will be.  The wider the strips, the larger the end product.
Using the excess paper, punch two circles.
Now fold your strips like you would a fan.  Use a scoreboard for more precise folds, but I just did mine the good ‘ol fashioned way.
Now hot glue the strips together.
Glue the end to the beginning so you end up with a circle.  You can see my seam above, but once you press the circle in tighter, your seam will be hidden.
Compact it in so there’s no hole in the center.
Hot glue one of your circles to the center front
Hot glue your other circle to the center back for reinforcement
Now glue your decorative button (or other embellishment) on top of the front paper circle
Glue your dowel to the back, and you’re done!

Now make a bouquet of them and show them off on your party table!
Are you planning a party in the near future?

Thanks so much for your great instructions. Actually I AM planning on making a bunch of these to use at my son's after rehearsal dinner at then end of May. I like the way you secured them with the circle in the middle...that looks easier than other ways I have tried in the past. I saw your post over at "Rain On A Tin Roof" blog party.

Little things can spice up a party quite nicely, making it classier, or just helping the party come together. Things like party favors for young children are always a nice touch. This leaves the guest walking away with that little something extra to remember what a good time they had.you can get more idea from here: Birthday party decorations UK
