Pecan Pie Cinnamon Rolls are a delicious dessert infused with wonderful flavors of fall like cinnamon, caramel apple and pecan, then smothered in a delectable cream cheese frosting and topped with pretty M&M’s® Pecan Pie!
I love autumn time for SO many reasons (it’s by far my favorite season)! I enjoy bundling up in sweaters, jackets, scarves, boots, and heading out into the crisp air. I look forward to taking my kids to the pumpkin patch every year and watching their excitement as they pick out THE perfect one to carve for Halloween night.
I can’t get enough of the gorgeous-colored leaves on the trees as I drive through our new neck of the woods. We moved about a month ago up the mountains and the timing could not have been more perfect! I get to see, firsthand, the trees making their beautiful transition with leaves of orange, red, and yellow. It’s absolutely breathtaking.
Our family also looks forward to the annual balloon festival that happens here in October. We bundle up and head out with our tin foil-wrapped breakfast burritos in hand, before the break of dawn, to witness the hot air balloons making their way into the sky just as the sun hits comes up. The view cannot be beat!
Another activity that I get really anxious about when the weather gets cooler is cooping myself up in the house and baking up a storm! I always have a long bucket list of treats to make before the fall season even gets underway.
I browse the baking and candy aisle every time I hit Walmart and stock up on essentials like M&M’s®, Mott’s®, Snapple® and Pillsbury™ to feed my baking addiction. 🙂
MARS Bake In The Fun Sweepstakes
Then I bolt it for home with my treasure to make something yummy like today’s Pecan Pie Cinnamon Rolls. These sweet rolls will take your taste buds on a trip to dessert heaven!
{PECAN PIE CINNAMON ROLLS}
Adapted heavily from Taste of Home
Makes 24
1 T. yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. sugar
4-5 cups flour
1 pkg. Pillsbury™ Moist Supreme® Caramel Cake Mix 15.25oz
1 cup Mott’s® Apple Sauce Original
1/4 c. butter, very soft
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
M&M’s® Pecan Pie 9.9oz.
Pillsbury™ Supreme Creamy® Cream Cheese Seasonal Frosting 16oz
Proof yeast in warm water with 1 tsp. sugar if using active dry yeast. If using quick-rise yeast, add the yeast and warm water in with the flour, cake mix, and apple sauce, but disregard the 1 tsp. sugar. In the bowl of an electric mixer, combine 4 cups flour, cake mix, yeast and water and applesauce. Mix until it forms a soft dough. Add enough flour, 1/4 cup at a time, so the dough is still soft and slightly sticky but not overly sticky (I added 1/2 cup more). Let dough knead in the mixer with the hook attachment for about five minutes.
Cover and let rise until doubled, about 45 minutes.
Punch dough down. Grab half the dough from the bowl and turn onto a lightly floured surface. Roll into a 14×10-in. rectangle.
Brush with softened butter and sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon and 1/2 cup M&M’s® Pecan Pie.
Roll up jelly-roll style, starting with a long side. Cut each roll into 12 slices.
Place cut side down in a greased 13×9-in. pan or on a large greased or nonstick mat-lined cookie sheet. Repeat process for remaining dough.
Cover and let rise until almost doubled, about 30 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Cool for ten minutes, then frost warm rolls with Pillsbury™ Supreme Creamy® Cream Cheese Seasonal Frosting and top with additional M&M’s® Pecan Pie.
