Pumpkin Bowling Halloween Party Game

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group™ and Cottonelle, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #CottonelleTarget  http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO.

Sometimes the simplest activities are the most fun, am I right?  This Pumpkin Bowling game is about as easy as it comes and is always a huge hit with the kids.   All it takes is a pumpkin, some rolls of toilet paper and a black permanent marker!

Kids just love straight-forward, quick forms of entertainment.  I always laugh each year on Christmas morning when my kids open their gifts and are mesmerized more by the box or the wrapping paper than the actual toy.  🙂  They push each other around in the empty packaging like it’s a sled and seem to forget about the shiny new contraption that was held within.  Tell me that my kids aren’t the only ones who do this.  🙂

As a more recent example, just last weekend, we went on a fun family outing to the pumpkin patch.  We look forward to it each October.

Here’s my three little pumpkins with their pumpkins.  We found the perfect “bowling ball” there (not shown above).

It was far more than a place to pick up carve-able orange gourds for Halloween night, though.  There was a huge fort with tunnel slides for quick escape, a cow train, a giant spiderweb net, bounce houses, a corn maze, a petting farm, and a corn dig.  Can you guess which activity was the biggest hit?

It was the giant “sandbox”-type enclosure that was filled with dried corn kernels.  The kids could have played in it all day!  They filled their buckets, dumped them out, and buried each other to their heart’s content, all while laughing and having a great time.  They were seemingly un-phased by the cold temperatures, while I sat there on the bench watching them play, trying to keep my chattering teeth under control.

As far as most kids are concerned, the less elaborate the activity, the better.  Just another reason why Pumpkin Bowling is so amazing.  It’s self-explanatory for the littles and requires only a little preparation on your part.

These costume-adorned cuties (a.k.a. Fancy Nancy and Batman) were content to knock down ghost “pins” for at least an hour during which time I actually did not have to enter once to break up a quarrel.  Amazing!
It easily passed the test with my little guinea pigs!
What you’ll need to make your own:

-10 rolls of toilet paper (I took my bi-weekly trip to Target and picked up a 20 pack of Cottonelle Triple Roll.  It’s so plush and the roll is huge!)  Mine included a $1.00 off coupon too!  And, I used THIS COUPON for a free box of Kleenex with my purchase!  Talk about a bargain.

-A black permanent marker to draw on the ghost faces
-A small pumpkin (large enough to knock down the “pins”)

Note: You can draw on a pumpkin face with your marker or cut one out using a vinyl machine like I did. It’s totally optional, though.

Now simply draw three circles for the ghost face, make your pumpkin face if you’d like, stack the ghost “pins”, and the kids are good to go!

They can sit or stand to bowl.  Just a note-I popped the stem off so the pumpkin would roll better.
See how many “pins” they can knock over with two tries per turn, just like in real bowling.
Being the “Frugal Fannie” that I am, this game has another plus…the rolls are totally re-usable after peeling off the first few layers! 🙂

Don’t forget…right now, if you purchase Cottonelle Triple Roll 12 pack or larger, you’ll get a FREE box of Kleenex (while supplies last)!  Just print THIS COUPON and redeem at your local Target store at checkout.

Are you hosting a Halloween party this year?  If so, Pumpkin Bowling is a perfect kid-friendly game to play!

This is such a cute idea! I love how simple it is and doesn't require a whole lot of extra materials or prep work. Who doesn't have toilet paper? :) Can't wait to try this with my kiddos. Thanks for sharing this!

Your child's were bored when they played more time on same type moonwalks. For that rent inflatable moonwalks inflatable moonwalks which are designed by many colors and different shape.
