Thank you Spice Islands for providing me with the yummy premium spices for today’s delicious dessert!
Have I got a fall treat for you today! These Pumpkin Magic Bars are just that…magic! A graham cracker layer on bottom, then a gooey pumpkin layer and loads of chocolate chips and pecans on top!
I’ve said before that I’m pumpkin obsessed! I’d be perfectly content if it were fall all year round! Baking pumpkin goodies is one of my most favorite things to do when the weather turns cooler and the leaves start changing.
Since pumpkin and chocolate are quite possibly the best way to eat pumpkin (at least I think so), I decided to put them together in an incredible bar that will leave you wanting more and more!
This dessert has unbelievable flavor, thanks to Spice Islands spices! The wonderful aroma filled the whole house while they were baking! Cinnamon and cloves are pretty typical in pumpkin treats, but I added a secret spice that really takes these over the top! These simply wouldn’t be the same without a hint of Cardamom! You’re going to be amazed when you try them!
Spice Islands spices are premium spices that provide rich, authentic flavor! You can really taste the difference! I’ve always said that good quality ingredients are key in baking and cooking. If I’m going to be using my calories on it, it better be worth it, at least that’s my mantra!
Spice Islands carries a wide array of spices to enhance the flavor of anything you might bake or cook up! The sky’s the limit!

These are nothing short of incredible! I know you’re going to think so too! They’re everything I want in a fall dessert and more! We’ll definitely be making these again and again this season!

Pumpkin Magic Bars
Ingredients
- Crust:
- 3 c. graham cracker crumbs
- 3/4 c. butter melted
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- Pumpkin layer:
- 1/2 c. butter softened
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. canned pumpkin puree NOT pumpkin pie filling
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. Spice Islands cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. Spice Islands cardamom
- 1/4 tsp. Spice Islands cloves
- 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 c. chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a 9"x13" pan with parchment paper so it hangs over the sides slightly. Press it into the pan so it takes form and stays as much as possible.
- For the crust, stir together graham cracker crumbs, sugar and melted butter until all the crumbs are moist and coated. Press and pack the crust mixture into prepared pan with the back of a flat measuring cup and bake for 8 minutes.
- While the crust is baking, prepare the pumpkin layer by creaming together softened butter, sugar, canned pumpkin, egg and vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Add to wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Spread quickly and carefully over baked crust. Press chocolate chips and chopped pecans into the batter, then bake for about 30-35 minutes more, or just until it's no longer jiggly and it's set completely. Allow them to cool completely, then slice into bars and serve.

Happy fall baking! I’d love to hear what you think when you make these!
