Wow your party guests with this non-alcoholic Ho-Ho-Holiday Berry Punch drink! A perfect combination of sweet, slightly tangy and fizzy, with the wonderful flavors of berry and orange! Santa himself would approve!
In fact, I’m pretty sure the jolly old man would let out a hearty “Ho, Ho, Ho!” after sip one!
I love this hectic but wonderful time of year! I’ve got so many holiday parties on the schedule, but I wouldn’t have it any other way! One of the things I look forward to every year during December is a recital that I host in my home where my piano and violin music students get to perform for their family and friends. It’s always so great to see how much they’ve progressed over the course of that year. It brings me so much pride, as their teacher, to see them learning and loving music.
After the recital I like to provide yummy, festive refreshments for all of the guests to enjoy. Both sweet and savory dishes make their appearance. Among tasty hors d’oeuvres like this out-of-this-world Sun-Dried Tomato and Bacon Cheeseball and White Chocolate Peppermint Fudge, I enjoy providing a gorgeous and delicious drink served in my pretty glass dispenser.
This sparkling Ho-Ho-Holiday Berry Punch will definitely be making its debut this year at the recital!
It packs some serious holiday pizzazz! With all the gift shopping, parties and other busy-ness that happens during this month, I can’t devote too much time to preparing food for my recital, so I always serve appetizers and drinks that are simple to prepare but that are also sure to receive rave reviews from guests young and old!
Today’s yummy punch definitely fits the bill.
The holidays are full of sparkle, magic, and beauty, so I wanted to embody all of those wonderful attributes of the season in a drink recipe. I love the gorgeous color combination of cranberries and oranges, and the marvelous flavor that accompanies.
I started by quickly prepping my add-ins. Slice an orange or two thin and then slice each whole in two. Skewer three cranberries on each of about 16 toothpicks. Prepare your sugar-rimmed plastic cups by dipping the tops in water, shaking the drips off, then dipping them in a mixture of white sugar and orange rind shreds. You’ll also need some Dasani Sparkling Water, Berry flavored, to add that delightful sparkle I was talking about!
It comes in packs of 12 cans, 12 oz. each, so I can make my today’s drink recipe in bulk, which is great, because I’m expecting a great turn-out at my recital. 🙂 I made a Walmart run and picked up all my supplies.
Dasani Sparkling Water is the perfect mix-in because it has zero calories, is unsweetened, caffeine-free, and contains no artificial colors! It’s available in other yummy flavors too…Lime, Lemon and Black Cherry for all your drink-making needs!
{HO-HO-HOLIDAY BERRY PUNCH}
Serves about 16
3 cans (12 oz. each) Dasani Sparkling Water, Berry
8 cups Minute Maid Berry Punch
6 oz. Minute Maid Orange Juice, frozen from concentrate
2 Tbsp. sugar
Add-ins:
3 oranges, sliced thin and then halved
Cranberries, skewered three per toothpick
For sugar rimmed glasses:
1/4 c. white sugar
1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
Stir together 1/4 cup white sugar and orange rind in a small bowl. Dip the tops of the cups in a bowl of water, shake off the excess, then dip in the sugar/orange rind mixture and roll around until coated. Set aside.
Mix all the drink ingredients together, except the Dasani Sparkling Water, mashing the frozen orange juice chunks to blend completely. Refrigerate to chill and then stir in the Dasani Sparkling Water just before serving, to preserve the sparkle.
Now pour into clear plastic or glass cups, add a few orange halves, a cranberry toothpick skewer, and..bottoms up!
This would be perfect for New Year’s celebrations as well! So many delicious flavors of the holidays contained in one cup! A happy-looking and tasting drink that Santa would be proud of and that the whole family will enjoy!
