Thanksgiving Mantel Decor

**I was provided with free product from Artsy Couture, but all opinions are 100% my own.

My kids and husband can tell you that I’m adamant about giving each holiday its much-deserved glory.  When I walk through stores before Halloween is even over and see Christmas decorations, I literally cringe.  Now don’t get me wrong.  I’m not the Grinch. I LOVE Christmas, but I just believe in celebrating Thanksgiving before Christmas.  A day that’s devoted to food should certainly be given great attention, at least in my book.
After I take down my Halloween decorations, up go the Thanksgiving/fall items.  Only the morning after Thanksgiving, do we devote much of the day, as a family, to filling our house with Christmas magic.  That’s what my husband and I grew up doing and it’s a tradition that we wanted to continue with our children.
When do you put up the tree?
Anyway, back to Thanksgiving, I really enjoy sitting down with family and friends and enjoying a deliciously large meal complete with turkey, potatoes/gravy, stuffing, rolls, jello salad, green bean casserole and don’t forget my favorite part…a gigantic slice of homemade pie.  To me, sharing food is sharing a part of my heart, and that’s what Thanksgiving’s all about, right?  Realizing life’s great blessings, including the people we hold dear.
I don’t have many Thanksgiving decorations, so this year, with the help of Artsy Couture, I increased my decor repertoire and put together a mantel devoted to the great day and what it entails.
Here it is!

Simple yet impactful…just how I like it.  Find out how to make the No-Sew Burlap Thankful Bunting HERE.

My greatest blessing is of course my family, so I showcased them in some fun 4″ wooden photo cubes from Artsy Couture.  These would make great Christmas gifts too!  Just be aware that the cubes don’t have bottoms, which is totally fine because you can’t see them anyway, but just good to know before you order.  I love that you can choose background colors and designs and personalize them with photos or even sentiments of your choice.

Want some of your own? Get 15% off cube decor using code “IDPTG”.  Code expires 12/1/13.  Note: you’ll need to go through the ROES system in order for the code to apply.  Be sure to allow yourself about 10 days for the order to arrive, with production and shipping times.

I also printed off an 8×10 of this neat quote through Artsy Couture and displayed it in a Sweet Frame.
Then I simply added in some mini pumpkins for some pops of color and a vase filled with dried wheat.

What do you think?  It’s my tribute to Thanksgiving, because I don’t want to overlook the importance of being thankful.  There’ll be plenty of time for celebrating Christmas.

Burlap is one of my favorite materials. It's inexpensive and adds so much texture to projects.
