Don’t let those Thanksgiving leftovers go to waste! Make this Turkey Berry Grilled Cheese Sandwich and you’ll thank yourself!
My husband and I consider ourselves experts at making leftovers not taste like leftovers. I admit that I was never a “leftovers” type of gal until I married him. He has a magical way of adding this and that or frying it up this certain way to make it taste like a whole different, amazing meal! So, over 11 years of marriage, all the while being his apprentice, I feel like I’ve become educated in the ways of serving yesterday’s casserole or meat dish in a manner that will “wow” the dinner crowds. 🙂
Growing up, I used to grimace when my mom would say that we were just “warming up the spaghetti” again for supper. Now, as a mom myself, I relish every opportunity I can get to avoid cooking every night of the week. That being said, I like to give the food a tweak the second time around to keep the complaints at bay. 🙂
I vividly recall after Thanksgiving dinner each year, as a child, that we’d literally have bags and bags of turkey pieces remaining. We’d groan at our parents because it meant having the same thing night after night until they were cleaned out of our fridge.
I’m pretty sure I’m not alone in my distaste for going on dinner repeat for weeks following a big meal.
So today I’m sharing one incredible way to serve up those turkey leftovers and hear praises instead of whines from the family. 🙂

They’re naturally sweetened with honey and you can really taste it! I used this Triple Berry variety for today’s recipe, but I grabbed some yummy Strawberry Fruit Spread as well.

Here’s how it’s done:
Turkey Berry Grilled Cheese Sandwich

- Cream Cheese
- Smucker's Fruit and Honey Triple Berry Fruit Spread
- Leftover turkey slices or pieces can also use turkey slices from the deli
- Coleslaw Mix
- Swiss cheese slices

Instructions
- Warm a stovetop grill or griddle. Butter one side of each of the sourdough slices. Spread cream cheese and Smucker's Fruit and Honey Triple Berry Fruit Spread over the cream cheese. Top with Swiss cheese and a generous amount of turkey. Add some coleslaw mix and press other sourdough slice on top with the butter side facing up. Place sandwich on grill and cook until cheese is melty, contents inside are warmed through, and the bread is a nice toasty golden brown. Slice sandwich in half and serve immediately.
This sandwich will make you rethink the way you’ve been doing grilled cheese for the past however many years! 🙂 I hope you enjoy it like we did!
