In an electric mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, whip the cream with 1/2 c. powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Fold in diced maraschino cherries, crushed peppermint candies, chopped walnuts or pecans, mini marshmallows, and food coloring.

Store in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Serve with vanilla wafers, graham crackers or other cookies. Garnish with additional peppermint pieces, if desired.
