Spaghetti and Butternut Squash Skillet Meal

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 lb. turkey sausage
  • 1/2 of a green bell pepper diced
  • 1 heaping cup sliced white mushrooms
  • 1 can 14.5 oz Italian style diced tomatoes
  • 1 can 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 pkg. Green Giant® Veggie Spirals® Spaghetti Squash 10 oz
  • 1 pkg. Green Giant® Veggie Spirals® Butternut Squash

Method
 

  1. In a large skillet over the stove top on medium-high heat, add olive oil.
  2. Add diced green bell pepper, sliced mushrooms and turkey sausage.
  3. Cook, while breaking up the sausage, until the sausage is completely cooked through and veggies are tender.
  4. Add Italian style diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano and stir.
  5. Let the sauce simmer over medium-low heat, uncovered, for around 8 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Steam Green Giant® Veggie Spirals® Spaghetti Squash according to package directions, then gently shred it with a fork and fold it into the sauce mixture.
  7. Steam Green Giant® Veggie Spirals® Butternut Squash according to package directions and serve the sauce over it.
