It wouldn’t be summer time without an outdoor movie night for the family, complete with all the yummy snacks! This Buckeye Popcorn with a perfect peanut butter and chocolate combo will become a movie night tradition!
One of our family’s favorite summer time traditions is to have an outdoor movie night! We pull out the projector, set up the screen and the kids grab their pillows and blankets. We like to do this at least three or four times before school starts up again. It’s one of the kids’ most talked about memories!
And speaking of movies, our family is so excited about the release of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation to theaters on July 13th! You won’t want to miss out on ! I’ll tell you more about it later on in this post!
I like to make sure there are lots of treats to munch on while watching! Good food makes the evening more fun! So I set up a simple snack bar with water, Lance Crackers, and Buckeye Popcorn made so easy and tasty with Pop Secret Popcorn!
Pop Secret is always a big part of our movie night! We love its fantastic butter taste and it’s a delicious, high-quality snack that I can feel good about serving my family.
Our goody table just wouldn’t have been the same without Lance Crackers! My kids beg for them! It’s no wonder they love them! Lance has been making little sandwiches for over 100 years with two awesome crackers on the outside with incredible spreads between. They’re flavorful, wholesome, filling and so convenient for an outdoor movie night!
I filled a cute bowl with our Lance Crackers to make it so easy for everyone to grab them and go while watching the show.
I lined the table with colorful tie-dye wrapping paper. I love using wrapping paper because it’s inexpensive and so easy to dispose of after the fun is over.
I shopped at my local Smith’s to get ready for this memorable event!
My family can’t get enough of the movie nights during the summer! We’re ecstatic about the release of Hotel Transylvania 3, to say the least! Are you looking forward to it?!
Just to give you a quick run-down of what it’s about…our favorite monster family embarks on a luxurious vacation on a big cruise ship because Drac needs a break from the everyday grind at the hotel. The monsters enjoy all the amenities the cruise ship has to offer from monster volleyball to exotic excursions, and catching up on their moon tans. But the trip takes a turn for the worse when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monsterkind!
I can’t wait to see what happens!
And now, because I want you to be able to go see Hotel Transylvania 3, I’m sharing a great offer with you to help make it happen! Ingredients
- 2 pkgs 3.2 oz. each Pop Secret Movie Theater Butter Popcorn, popped (remove unpopped kernels)
- 12 oz. good melting chocolate I used chocolate almond bark
- Peanut Butter Drizzle:
- 3/4 c. creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 c. powdered sugar
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
- Peanuts and mini chocolate chips for mix-ins
Instructions
- Melt the chocolate on low heat over the stovetop, stirring constantly, until completely smooth. Pour over popcorn and toss gently to coat. Be sure to stir up from the bottom because that's where the chocolate will settle.
- Make the peanut butter drizzle next. In a pan over the stove top on low heat, stir together peanut butter, vanilla, powdered sugar, milk, and brown sugar. Stir well and allow mixture to warm through, but NOT boil.
- Spread chocolate popcorn out on a parchment paper-lined cookie sheet. Drizzle peanut butter mixture over the popcorn, then sprinkle with mini chocolate chips and peanuts. Let sit in the refrigerator until set. Break up popcorn into chunks and serve.
Have you ever had an outdoor movie night? If not, I hope you’ll get the opportunity soon! It’s a fun summer family activity, just like a movie night out at ! I can’t wait to see it with my kiddos!
