Juicy Fruit Bubble Gum Tree Treasure Hunt {with free clues printable)

The other day I sent the kids on a treasure hunt to a bubble gum tree!  What’s that you say? You didn’t know that Juicy Fruit® chewing gum grew on trees?  Well apparently it does in our neck of the woods.  🙂  It’s one of a child’s wildest dreams come true, and my lucky kids and some of their friends get to log it away in their memory bank.
These are times when I wish I were a kid again.  But at least I get to re-live the good ‘old days through these sweet young ones.
Heck, I wished I had the energy of a child as I was clunking up the hill behind them while they bolted at the speed of light toward the bubble gum tree.  They were on a mission, and a yummy, chewy one at that, little did they know.
In preparation for this fun event, I stocked up on Juicy Fruit® Bubble Gum (20 5-piece packs to be exact) at Walmart.  Because I couldn’t resist, I grabbed some Juicy Fruit® Fruity Chews while I was at it. I’m pretty sure this convenient in-store display was placed there just for me in anticipation of our hunt!
That’s a lot of bubble gum, yet it’s not even half of what would be available for plucking on the tree.
I wrote up some rhyming clues before-hand.  Six was just enough for this crazily excited crew and for the host, who couldn’t have gone much further while toting an almost two-year-old. 🙂 Download and print the Bubblegum Tree Treasure Hunt Clues here.  As always, printables are for personal use only.

The anticipation was great while I handed out bags to hold a sweet, fruity treasure that would be revealed to them in just a short time.
The hunt began at the head of a hiking trail at the foothills near our house.
The prompts led them from boulders marked with a chalk “x” to a red ribbon tied to a post, all while dodging cactuses…
…and eventually to a tree, (the only one on the entire hill in our desert abode), that was burgeoning with bubble gum!

Imagine their surprise!  It certainly was a welcome, unexpected sight.  They picked to their heart’s content while chewing on their tasty loot.  They tried unsuccessfully to blow bubbles.  Give them a few years and they’ll be champs I’m sure. 🙂
They say money doesn’t grow on trees, but strawberry Juicy Fruit® Bubble Gum sure can, and we’ve got the pictures to prove it!  Oh how the kids loved this adventure!
Do you see a treasure hunt to the bubble gum tree in your kids’ future?  I hope so!Check with your local Walmart for some Juicy Fruit in-store demos that will be coming your way this summer! And be sure to follow Juicy Fruit on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with the #JuicyFruitFunSide!

This looks so fun! And what a cute idea! Kids love gum, so I bet that was an especially fun surprise to find growing on a tree:)
