Today I can’t wait to tell you all about my experience with essential oils! A huge thank you to Brittany with doTERRA for providing me with this wonderful opportunity!
I’ve been curious (and a little skeptical) about essential oils for a long while now. I’d see the social media posts from my friend Brittany who is a doTERRA coach, or get invited to an essential oils “party” and I’d think, “Hmmmm….I wonder what those are all about?”, or “I wonder if those actually work?”.
But up until about a month ago, I had never actually tried them or learned what they can do. Honestly, I had been avoiding purchasing them because A.) I wasn’t sure if they could meet my expectations and B.) I felt overwhelmed at the thought of “getting into” them. C.) I thought they were too expensive.
I’ve always been a big proponent of modern medicine. That being said, I’m very open to trying methods and products that might prevent our family from having to make an expensive and sometimes unnecessary trip to the Dr.’s office.
Essential oils have always intrigued me. So when Brittany contacted me and asked if I wanted to give them a try, I of course took her up on the offer. I was thrilled to see what they could do for me!
I’ve been using them daily over the past month and I have to tell you that I LOVE essential oils! I’m no longer a skeptic.
Brittany and I chatted for a bit about my various health concerns and then she determined which oils would best fit my needs. She ended up recommending Melaleuca, Lavender, and Lemon.
I apply the Lavender touch oil to the bottoms of my feet each night before bed and I’ve been sleeping so well!
I like to apply a few drops of lemon to my hands and then inhale deeply whenever I’m feeling uptight or stressed. Lemon oil is also great for sore throats and ear aches, which my kids get often during the winter months. So you can bet I’ll be keeping it at the ready!
And I couldn’t believe what Melaleuca does for my blemishes! I apply it directly to the affected area on my face in the evening before bed and then I wake up to a seriously reduced bump and the redness is pretty much gone! I’m telling you nothing I’ve tried up to this point has worked this kind of magic on my complexion!
The hubby has been having some back pain, so we’ve been using this Deep Blue Rub and it works wonders for him!
I can speak for its incredibleness first hand, as well, because I had a particularly physically exhausting weekend not long ago painting my boys’ room (and ceiling) and working on installing baseboards (I’m excited to show you how it turned out soon). But, suffice it to say, at the end of the day, I was sore to the point that I didn’t think I could sleep. Every part of me hurt! So I massaged this amazing rub into my skin where my muscles were screaming at me and now I bow down to this stuff! 🙂 It’s SO tingly-amazing and really soothes those achy areas.
Now to address my original opinion that essential oils are too expensive. I did some calculations, and the cost per use of these is extremely low! Each application requires very little, so these will last me a long time! Plus, when comparing the cost of oils to that of a visit to the Dr., I’d pay for oils any day!
I’m loving what my essential oils are doing to help make my days and nights so much better!
