How to Survive and Thrive in Small Business in Uncertain Times

I’m partnering with GoDaddy to share my tips and tricks on how all of us entrepreneurs can continue and thrive during this period of uncertainty. #OpenWeStand #GoDaddyPartner

As you probably know, I run a small business from my home (this blog). I am passionate about sharing scrumptious recipes and creative content with you! I’ve done this for over seven years! Time flies when you’re having fun! It’s an added bonus that I get to earn income for my family by making delicious desserts, dinners, and sharing kids’ activities and craft ideas with you.

When you create these recipes in your own home, share them with your family, and fall in love with them like I have, it’s the cherry on top!

Right now, things are pretty uncertain in the world in many ways. The economy and particularly small businesses like mine are starting to feel the repercussions. Finances are tighter, jobs are not a given, and the future is unknown. We’re living from day to day. I remain positive that this will not always be the case, but is a shorter-term hurdle to jump. Nevertheless, if we business owners aren’t quick to make incremental and swift adjustments with the times, we can get left in the dust in the blink of an eye.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the course of my many blogging days, it’s that I cannot be stagnant and hope to succeed. I’ve learned to “roll with the punches” so to speak.

Because I want to continue doing what I love (sharing content with you) and building my business, I’ll strive to do the following, moving forward:

Stay calm and carry on. A clear head and motivation to press forward, despite the obstacles goes a long way!

Continue making connections on a meaningful level. The relationships I’ve built through this blog mean the world to me! I’m looking forward to strengthening these. My wonderful social media and blog friends keep me going!

Continue sharing relevant, helpful content. Right now, this means a different thing than even just a few weeks ago. I’ll be providing my readers with loads of simple meal ideas that involve budget-friendly, easy-to-find ingredients. My goal is to continue to be a resource for feeding the family in a delicious, affordable way! Oh, and helping moms stay sane at home with the kids! 🙂

Be adaptable and ambitious. These are unprecedented times. What’s working one day may not necessarily work the next. Be willing to strategize, re-focus and make the necessary changes in a timely manner. Stay motivated and positive through the ups and downs!

Get used to discomfort. Marked growth doesn’t happen when we are in our comfort zone. Push outside the “safe place” and try new things! It might not work, but it might!

Encourage and support other small businesses in whatever ways possible. We are in this together! Let’s reach out and help lift each other up.

Don’t just survive-THRIVE! Merely surviving is displacing intentionality. Accept the circumstances, no matter how bleak they may seem, and take charge of each day to create something better! Be resilient!

Great tips! This is a tough time for everyone but I think we all can take this as an opportunity to learn and grow in a different way than we would have otherwise.
