Create a new spring and Easter tradition with these Orange Pistachio Bundles that make a perfect dessert for any gathering! The orange glaze will have you licking your lips!
We are enjoying the little bit of snow that we’ve received over the past few weeks, but springtime is not far ahead! We’re looking forward to warmer weather, gorgeous blooming flowers and of course Easter festivities!
Our family has a few fun things that we do year after year to help us celebrate this exciting time! Since my kids were little, I’ve always put together an egg hunt. We typically invite a few close friends and enjoy a nice day together, including a picnic outdoors, so long as the temperature cooperates.
We always plan out a special meal for Easter Sunday that includes all of our family’s favorite yummies! The dinner certainly isn’t complete without a delicious dessert! These Orange Pistachio Bundles are going to become a new Easter dinner essential!
There’s just something about spring time that always has me craving cinnamon rolls and fresh citrus flavors! Are you the same way? Combine the two, and I am one very happy camper!
I’ve always loved orange rolls, but I rarely have the time or desire to spend hours waiting for the dough to rise, rolling them out, cutting and baking. Especially on occasions like Easter, I’d much rather spend time making memories with those I love than slaving away in the kitchen!
And that’s precisely why I proudly and deservedly take the liberty of using Pillsbury Grands!™ Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls. No one can tell the difference! They cut the prep time way down and make dessert an absolute breeze! Plus, they’re incredibly delectable and so easy to find at Walmart when I’m there for my weekly grocery trip.
And because the ordinary cinnamon roll sometimes needs a little extra pizzazz, I filled mine with the creamiest, dreamiest orange pistachio mixture that will make the taste buds sing!
Just break one open and admire that delightful surprise inside. Working your way to the center of the roll is like a blissful treasure hunt for the taste buds! You know the thrill that kids get when they find that perfect, pretty egg and get to put it in their basket? Well, each bite of these bundles provides that same level of joyous, immeasurable excitement. Make them and you’ll see what I’m talking about. 🙂
Orange Pistachio Bundles
Ingredients
- 2 cans Pillsbury Grands!™ Refrigerated Cinnamon Rolls 17.5 ounces and 5 ct. each
- 3/4 c. chopped pistachios
- 8 oz. cream cheese softened
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 tsp. orange rind
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. fresh-squeezed orange juice
- Glaze:
- 2 cups pre-made icing included in the cinnamon roll can
- 2 tsp. orange rind
- 2 Tbsp. fresh-squeezed orange juice or just enough to achieve desired drizzling consistency
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Stir together chopped pistachios, cream cheese, brown sugar, orange rind and orange juice in a bowl. Open the can and roll out each cinnamon roll round to make them easier to fill. Place a tablespoon of the mixture in the center, then bring the sides up and pinch to seal. Gently press the bundle together to prevent the filling from coming out. Place seam side down on a greased cookie sheet or one that's been lined with a non-stick baking mat.
- Bake until golden brown, or about 18-19 minutes. While they're cooling, prepare the glaze by whisking together the pre-made icing and orange rind. Add fresh-squeezed orange juice a little at a time until the consistency is smooth and thin enough to drizzle. Add the glaze and a sprinkling of additional orange rind and chopped pistachios, if desired, and enjoy!
I put together a quick video to show you just how easy this is to do! You’re seriously less than 30 minutes away from enjoying this “wow-worthy” confection!
The orange glaze is EVERYTHING! It’s finger-licking good! Finish the bundles off with a little extra orange rind and chopped pistachios, if you’d like, and enjoy!
These bundles deserve to be served at every springtime gathering! They will impress all the guests!
What are your favorite traditions and activities that accompany Easter? I’d love to hear!
