Back-to-school time is a great excuse to get organized! Make the task simpler with categorized lists hung on the fridge with a DIY Wood Round Clothespin Magnet!
I’m a total list maker, are you? I have scratch papers scattered all around the house where I’ve jotted down random “To Do’s” or items I need to purchase on my next trip to the store.
The problem is, I often can’t find those lists when I need them the most. 🙂 Thus, they’re useless to me. I feel so scatter-brained sometimes! I swear with each child I’ve had I’ve become more and more forgetful! Or maybe it’s just that my agenda lengthens by leaps and bounds as my family grows.
So I depend completely on my calendar and lists to get me through my day. Especially when the kids start school and more activities clutter our schedule, organization is key!
There’s just something so exciting and fulfilling about a hand-written list, am I right? It’s unmatched. I also look forward to the satisfaction of making that little check mark next to each item when it’s completed. It always takes a load off, at least until something else is added. 🙂
In an attempt to contain all my thoughts on one page, I put together this “My Lists” sheet with write-in categories, because they’re always changing. You could also note the dates on top, which I will do in the future. It’s so easy to switch it out after the week’s over and start with a clean slate/sheet the following week.
I got a little giddy when I found these Pilot G2 Pens at Walmart, because what’s a hand-written list without some fun color coding?
They come in 15 vibrant colors…my daughter made sure our package included purple and pink. What can I say…a girl after my own heart.
Pilot Pens are available in G2 Premium, G2 Fashion Collection, G2 Metallics in four different point sizes, so there’s an option for every different project or use under the sun! It’s no wonder they’re America’s #1 selling gel ink brand!
I snagged mine in the office supply section at Walmart. Be sure to save $0.75 on any ONE 4-pack (or larger) of G2 Gel Ink pens with THIS coupon!
So now I can go to town making list after list times a few hundred, without the concern of my ink running out, because G2 has been proven to write longer than all other gel brands!
Pilot G2 Pens write so smoothly and have the perfect grip for the utmost finger comfort! I’ve always loved making lists, but now I love it even more!
I admit that my husband laughs at me for my list obsession (please tell me I’m not alone in this). I may be a bit of an overachiever in that department, but at least I typically don’t forget anything!
Now, since I can literally clip the list to my fridge with this cute wood round magnet, I’ll save myself the hassle of losing it and losing my marbles in the process.
You won’t believe how simple this charming magnet is to make!
You’ll need some small wood rounds, a magnet, wooden clothespin, some craft paint and foam brush, and a glue gun.
Begin by giving your clothespin a few coats of paint and allowing it to dry completely. Hot glue the magnet on one side of the wood round, then hot glue the painted clothespin to the front, so a small portion of it hangs over the edge. That’s it! I told you it was easy peasy!
I’m not lying when I say that I look forward to making my lists every Sunday (my weekly planning day) now. These Pilot G2 Pens make it so much fun! Plus, the fact that I’m staying on top of things and avoiding the “scatterbrain” makes me so happy!
