Every bite of this Creamy Peanut Butter Brown Sugar Apple Dip tastes like fall! Share it with friends and family or enjoy it all to yourself for a yummy afternoon snack! Either way, it’s sure to become a favorite treat!
If there’s one way to prove that you are too dependent on technology, it’s when the internet goes out. It happened to us for four whole days this past week. It was kind of hilarious because at first we just sat there staring at each other, wondering what to do with ourselves when we couldn’t watch our favorite Netflix show or Google that fun factoid or look up the dinner recipe on Pinterest.
There were bouts of silence and confusion. It was as if we were willing it to come back. And when it didn’t, we took a little bit to process the hard truth and then we moved on to other things. 🙂 The kids went outside to ride their bikes and I deep cleaned the house and played board games with my hubby. And then the kids came in and read a good book.
We decided that, other than the inconvenience of not being able to do my blog work, having no internet can actually be a really great thing. Not that we would choose to have it that way every week, but short periods of no internet is a great way to get us back on track and focused on the really important things. When we disconnect from the world for a bit, we’re able to really enjoy life’s simple pleasures like savoring our time together as a family. And it was actually a breath of fresh air!
And you know what else is a gigantic breath of fresh air? Autumn time! I love when it finally cools off outside and the leaves change colors. I love when apples come into season and I can pull out my boots and sweaters again.
And I definitely love the desserts that are part of the fall season. I look forward to pumpkin and apple treats all year! And it also means that mine and my kids’ favorite holiday is not far away! We’ve already planned out the Halloween costumes! There are so many things to get excited about this time of year! We’re can’t wait for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch.
What screams, “It’s autumn!” more than a creamy peanut butter apple dip?! There’s also chopped pecans in there too, but you can leave them out if you’d like. Grab your favorite apple, and get dipping! I love that dips are so easy and quick to make and yet they’re a perfect way to curb that sweet tooth craving!
Creamy Peanut Butter Brown Sugar Apple Dip
Ingredients
- 1/4 c. creamy peanut butter
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1/4 c. brown sugar packed
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 c. chopped pecans
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 c. heavy cream
Instructions
- In the bowl of an electric mixer with the whisk attachment affixed, whip the cream with 1 tsp. vanilla extract until peaks form and it holds it shape when scooped.
- Add the creamy peanut butter, softened cream cheese, brown sugar, cinnamon and chopped pecans and mix until creamy and no lumps remain. Spoon mixture into a bowl, cover and refrigerate 1-2 hours so it can set up and thicken. Serve with sliced apples (drizzle apples with lemon juice so they don't go brown).
What do you do when the internet goes out? What fall activities are you most looking forward to? And what are your favorite fall treats? I’d love for you to weigh in!
