Display those festive Christmas cards on this handmade holder that looks like a holiday gift!

I can’t believe that we are already talking the holidays! Time really flies!

I look forward to this special season each year where we get to draw near to family and friends to make memories and celebrate in a big way.

I always send out physical Christmas cards by snail mail.  It’s one of my favorite holiday traditions! Are you like that?  There’s just something amazing about a tangible sentiment of joy and love during this wonderful time. To me it really says, “I’m thinking of you!”

I admit that I get giddy when I receive that stamped, addressed envelope in the mail that I know will be a holiday card.  It’s so fun to collect heartfelt notes from those we love.

Since I’m always looking for ways to organize and simplify my life during the holidays, I put together a quick and cute Christmas card holder.  I found the prettiest American Greetings cards at Walmart that I’ll put to great use in the coming weeks as the gift giving commences.  But for now, they look beautiful adorning my Christmas card display until I receive those exciting envelopes in my mail box from family and friends. 🙂

American Greetings has an amazing selection of greeting cards, along with all the gift wrap, bows, tissue, and bags you’ll need to make this season merry!  Cards are such a great way to connect with family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers and let them know you care, especially during this magical time of year!

Don’t miss out on this great Ibotta offer!
And, I think you’ll want to join in on this fabulous giveaway! American Greetings #MerryAndBright Sweepstakes!

I also snagged some M&M’s Peanut Fun Size while I was at Walmart, because we all know these will come in very handy. I admit that I love to reward myself with little sweet treats as I complete tasks throughout my day.  It’s a great incentive to get things done! 🙂  Especially during this busy time of year, I’m always in need of positive reinforcement and chocolate is a fantastic mode of encouragement. 🙂

img_2716You’ll need a large piece of heavy cardboard (mine measures 21″ x 16 1/2″), some American Greetings gift wrap (available in holiday prints as well), some ribbon and twine, mini wooden clothespins, tape, scissors, and an American Greetings gift bow for the top.

Here’s a quick run-down on how to make it. It’s so straightforward and a great way to get the kids involved in crafting!
diy-christmas-card-holder-collageBegin by wrapping your cardboard with the American Greetings gift wrap.  Now grab your ribbon and wrap it around the cardboard so it crisscrosses in the back. You’ll need to secure it in place in the back with tape.  Now wrap your twin around the cardboard piece a few times diagonally and again, secure with tape in the back.  Tie a pretty bow with your ribbon and secure in place in the top center with tape.  Place the American Greetings gift bow in the center of your ribbon bow and secure.

This makes a perfect holiday decoration and it’s functional as well!

My kids love to help attach the cards as we receive them.  Occasionally, I’ll catch them over there sweetly reading each one and noting how they miss the person who sent it.

This beauty will take its place next to the tree as soon as we put it up after Thanksgiving.

How do you display your Christmas cards?  I’d love to get more ideas!
