Fill this cute DIY Elf Paper Bag with treats or treasures and give it as a Christmas gift or a holiday party favor!
I can’t get over the cuteness! This is such an inexpensive way to package fun and festive items! It would make the perfect classmate gift too!
My kids can’t stop talking about how the elves are so busy this time of year in the workshop making those toys on their wish list. We’re sure to remind them often that Santa is watching their every move, so they need to be on their very best behavior if they’d rather not see coal and wood under the tree! 🙂
On average, there have been less quarrels, more taking turns and sharing. I love this time of year! Ha!
Do you want to know what else I really love? The cute colors and patterns of elf costumes! So I decided to embody them in a fun gift idea and share the tutorial today.
For this fun craft project you’ll need some green and white striped ribbon, pom poms, white paper lunch bags, red felt and washi tape. You’ll also need some scissors and a hot glue gun.
Start by folding your bag down and cutting your ribbon to size. I trimmed off two of the stripes, leaving three stripes wide (mine measured 4 1/2″ tall). Hot glue to the paper bag. Cut your red felt shorts (about 2 1/2″ wide) and shoes (a little more than 2″ long) and hot glue them to the bag/other pieces. Hot glue your pom poms to the top of the shoes, fill your bag with treats or what have you, then place a piece of decorative washi tape in the back to secure it closed.
Now find a good excuse to give the cute things away!
And speaking of Elf, I think I’ll go make myself a cup of hot cocoa, settle down in my comfy clothes and watch one of my favorite Christmas movies with Will Ferrell!
Happy gift giving!
