Monster Magic Krispies Bars Afternoon Treat

I don’t know about you, but by the time 3:00 PM rolls around, I feel like I deserve a reward for making it that far in my day.  🙂  I mean, shuttling my daughter to and from school, running errands, making meals, doing laundry, cleaning house, attending church meetings, and keeping two other kiddos alive and happy is a lot of work!  Can I get an “Amen!”?
Sometimes just making it through the carpool line without shouting at another parent who’s holding everyone up, or giving the crazy, grumpy crosswalk guards a piece of my mind is a feat in itself.  I’m really a nice person and I don’t like to cause uproar, lest you wonder about me.  🙂  So, as a result, I have to channel all the frustration that’s bottled up inside in a constructive manner.  My outlet of choice?
Sweets, of course!
Dessert makes everything better.  Especially when it involves Rice Krispies and chocolate.

 

I’ve been known to talk myself through cleaning a disastrous room or scrubbing down the shower (probably my least favorite household chore) just so I can reward myself with a treat afterwards.
It’s true.
I mean, wouldn’t you clean a bathroom for a square of these phenomenal Monster Magic Krispies Bars that are loaded with melted chocolate, homemade caramel peanut butter sauce, JET-PUFFED marshmallows and two delicious varieties of M&M’s?
I’d clean two bathrooms for this.  Heck, I’d even mop the kitchen floor as a bonus.
This is what an afternoon pick-me-up looks like, folks.  Treat yourself.Don’t you just want to dive into the sea of colorful M&M’s, marshmallows and peanuts?

You need this.  You deserve this.
You’re just minutes away from a heavenly, yummy experience.  Here’s where it all begins.
You’ll need a big box of ready made Rice Krispies Treats.  I snacked on a few squares while I prepped the dessert, because there were plenty to spare, and, well, I’d just finished organizing the pantry, so those squares had my name on them.
I found my Rice Krispies near the fruit snacks at Walmart.
Oh yeah, and I just about forgot to mention that Peanut Butter and Caramel are blissfully married and are living happily ever after.  They were a match made in heaven.

 

{MONSTER MAGIC KRISPIES BARS}
16 Rice Krispies squares
1 c. chocolate chips, melted
1 c. caramel bits, melted with 2 Tbsp. milk
ÂĽ c. creamy peanut butter
2 c. JET-PUFFED Miniature Marshmallows
⅔ c. plain M&M’s
½ c. Peanut Butter M&M’s
ÂĽ c. peanuts
Prepare toppings and set aside.  Line an 8”x11” pan with Rice Krispies squares.  Melt chocolate chips in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between.  Spread over Rice Krispies squares.  In the microwave or over a stovetop on low heat, melt caramel bits with milk.  Add peanut butter to caramel mixture and stir until smooth, then immediately spread over chocolate.  Immediately sprinkle with marshmallows, then both varieties of M&M’s and peanuts.  Press toppings into caramel.
These are a breeze to make and you’ll be thanking yourself for doing so and for enjoying a square or two when you embrace the evening with a smile, feeling refreshed and ready to tackle those dinner dishes!
