Spring time means a chance to give new life to the home! Bring some freshness to your abode with these easy, helpful tips!
The winter months can be a downer after a while. Do you feel the same way? Sometimes there’s not a whole lot to look forward to, the weather outside can be dreary, and we can find ourselves getting into a slump!
So once spring finally arrives, I like to revive my home-change my surroundings up a little-to make things more interesting and exciting! “Same old, same old” can be so boring (do you feel me on that one?), so I can’t wait to share with you a few ways that I break free of the “norm” by mixing things up in the home department!
1. Add fresh scents! Probably THE easiest and most instantaneous way to liven your mood and your atmosphere is with great smells! Have you ever been greeted by a wonderful aroma when you entered someone’s home and now you associate that positive experience with that place? It’s happened to me on more than one occasion, and I’m a firm believer that scents can send messages to the brain and create happy feelings and associations as a result.
I’ve lost count on the number of times I pull out Glade® Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Fragrance Mist No.3 Free™ scent and instantly beam in delight. I can’t help but smile with every breath I take! It instantly fills the room and takes me away to the beachside with notes of White Pineapple, Citrus, Starfruit, coconut and vanilla bean. I can’t think of a scent more worthy to add a pop of spring to the home!
Glade® Atmosphere Collection™ Fine Home Fragrance is infused with essential oils, and masterfully crafted fragrances. They smell high-end and create a classy ambiance, yet come at a price that’s easy on the wallet!
They’re available at Walmart in No.1 Enraptured™, No.2 Bright™, No.3 Free™, and No.4 Tempted™ fragrances (No.4 Tempted™ scent not shown).
2. Organize and clean main living areas. I like to start by decluttering the places where we spend the most time (i.e. kitchen and living room) and then I slowly but surely work my way to other areas as I have time. Orderly cupboards and shiny countertops boost my mood in a big way!
3. Add new decor pieces. I recently purchased this cute “Home Sweet Home” sign and it’s sitting pretty on my floating shelf in my living room! Knick Knacks are such a simple way to give a room a mini makeover! Don’t you agree?! It’s fun to retire old items and swap in new as our tastes and styles evolve.
4. Paint Walls and Rearrange furniture. I always like to say that one of the quickest ways to change the look of a room is to update the paint color! It really is a simple fix that has a huge impact! If I’m not feeling ambitious enough to pull out the ladder and rollers, though, I like to change the positions of decor pieces, sofas, and other furniture to quickly give a room a facelift. It’s really amazing what a relocation can do to get you excited again about a space!
What pointers would you add to this list? I’d love to hear!
