The past two days have been filled with ideas for things that we can give to wonderful teachers/mentors, as this school year draws to an end.If you missed them, check out these Cake Pop Jars, and this Chalkboard Countdown to Summer.
Since it’s Friday…my favorite day, I’m sharing a jackpot of gift ideas that any teacher is sure to love, just in case you haven’t found the perfect one yet. :)My friend and a reader, Michelle, submitted the following three fun crafts that she’s made for her kids’ teachers in the past.
{WOOD WORD BLOCKS}
She bought a 4×4 post and had them cut it into 4″ blocks. She sanded each block, then painted and sanded off some of the edges to give it character. She then cut the words with her Silhouette using 4 different fonts so it was more fun looking. After applying the vinyl, she Mod Podged over the tops of the words to seal them securely to the block.
{PHRASE TILES}
Michelle found the word design in the Silhouette store, cut, and applied it to a 12″ tile from Home Depot. Then she tied a ribbon (in the teacher’s favorite color) around it, and voila! A perfect, simple gift!
{WOOD LETTER BLOCKS}
Michelle cut a 2×4 into 5″ and 3″ blocks. Home Depot will make the cuts for you if you purchase your wood there. The font can be all the same or different for each letter. These were also sanded, painted and sanded on the edges. Then sealed with mod podge.
Thanks for the cute ideas, Michelle!

Here’s a few more ideas…two from previous posts on this blog, and one new.
{CHALKBOARD “TO DO” OR “NOTES” FRAMES}
I made THESE originally as chore charts for my kids, but they could easily be made into a “To Do” or “Notes” board for a teacher.
{TEACHER NAME PLAQUE}
I made this simple plaque (the pictures above are a front and back view) last year for my daughter’s teacher using a scrap piece of 2×4, some patterned paper and my Silhouette cutter for the vinyl.
{CHALKBOARD LABEL
LAYERED CANDY JARS}
Who wouldn’t appreciate these adorable layered candy jars? These are tailored towards Valentine’s Day, but could easily be filled with different candies for teacher appreciation.I hope you’ve found something that catches your eye.
What will you be giving the wonderful teachers in your kids’ lives this year?
