Valentine Monster Pencils with Free Printable!

I heart creative Valentines.  And if they’re homemade…all the better!  It’s no secret how much I love chocolate, but there’s just something even more “sweet” about a handmade sentiment…even if it doesn’t involve my kryptonite. 🙂  I adapted this idea a little from here.

If your kiddos are like mine, they’re crazy about all things monsters. So I threw together these fun monster pencils and created a fun and free printable to go with them too!

The best part about these? You can crank them out for an entire classroom in no time at all!  And I daresay that the kids just might get more enjoyment/use out of them than they would a piece of candy that’s gone in seconds!
Check out those heart antennae! Too cute for words.
These Valentines are super simple, memorable, and very inexpensive too!
{SUPPLIES}
Large pom poms (I like mine to cover the entire end of the pencil)
Valentine Pencils (I found mine in the Target Dollar Section)
Googly Eyes
White Pipe Cleaner
Felt

Hot Glue Gun

Go HERE to see the full tutorial.

To mix it up a little I used large pom poms and added in some fuzzy antennae topped with mini felt hearts.  I also made a free printable (that you’ll find below) in keeping with the monster/Valentine theme.

For the antennae, cut a white pipe cleaner to lengths of about 1 1/4″.  Cut mini hearts out of felt and hot glue to the ends of the pipe cleaners.  Use double stick tape or a glue stick to adhere the printables (find the link below) to the pencils.  That’s it!
Even my sweet baby couldn’t resist grabbing one during the photo shoot.  They’re just so soft and squishy and those eyes…  🙂
Lovable, friendly monsters that are sure to get the kiddos excited on Valentine’s Day!
My kids even came up with clever names for their new monster pets. 🙂
This silly girl staked her claim on two!  I guess I’ll be making more!
