I’m bursting with excitement today to spill the details of this pretty Disney Princess Spa Day Party that I recently hosted in celebration of the release of the Sleeping Beauty DVD. My girls are obsessed with princesses and couldn’t wait to be pampered and waited on hand and foot while watching one of their favorite princess movies.
All the little girls in attendance were absolutely in heaven, but you could have guessed that, right? It was truly a magical, royal event. Come see for yourself!
The food was fit for a princess, and of course all pink! Princesses do love pink, now don’t they? I just can’t get enough of all the little dainty, girly details that I got to pack into this. 🙂 But quite possibly my favorite detail were the swirled pink-frosted cupcakes with mini nail polish toppers. They were a cute indication of what would unfold later.
Party prep can be a lot of work, but it can be made loads easier with a party planning checklist! I never begin the process without a good old pen and paper where I list needed supplies, food, activities and names of guests to invite. I typed one out this time for your viewing. This list is literally my party lifeline!
A party always entails multiple trips to Walmart…
…but I only needed to make one stop to the party aisle where I grabbed these beauties.
American Greetings has a wonderful line of Disney princess decorations along with plates, cups and napkins. Basically anything and everything needed to throw a memorable Disney princess celebration. I also picked up some invitations and thank you notes, because a princess always lets her guests know the pleasure of their company was appreciated.
The princesses patiently waited at the Royal Day Spa doors, where they knew they were in for a royal treat.Download and print your free “Royal Day Spa” 8″x10″ sign HERE
They were introduced to a special station with a change of gowns. Even princesses spill sometimes, and other times they need a new wardrobe just because. :)Print the princess labels HERE.
The princesses were eager to sample the hors d’oeuvres after first arriving at the spa.
There was pink and white popcorn. I simply popped a few bags of popcorn and drizzled pink candy melts over and stirred to incorporate the color. The girls took notice of the beautiful mini princess table decorations. There were also pink and white cookies and chips to accompany the tortilla roll-ups.
I made a pretty vase centerpiece by rolling a piece of paper, taping it, and inserting it into a glass vase. I surrounded it with pink gumballs and pink wafer cookies. Then I just placed some handmade tulle pom poms on sticks in the middle.
The beautiful pink cupcakes were definitely a hit with the little ladies. For these, I simply made some yellow cupcakes, put some homemade buttercream pink frosting in a re-sealable bag, snipped the corner and swirled it on. Then I pushed a mini nail polish into a few of them (enough for each of the princesses). They saved these for the manicure and pedicure session that ensued.
Pretty and pink, just what the princess ordered.
I made some fruit and yogurt parfaits with layers of grapes and sliced strawberries and strawberry yogurt. I also dipped some jumbo marshmallows on sticks in pink candy melts and then gave them some pink sprinkles for a fancy finishing touch.
I made strawberry lemonade and served it up in Mason jars with cupcake liner lids and striped paper straws. It was nice that these were more spill-proof so the princesses could continue to sip them while attending their various spa appointments.
The princess tabletop decorations were a simple element that added the perfect touch to the food table.
My little Ariel even gave up some beauty rest (i.e. skipped her nap) in order to attend.
After satisfying their dainty appetites, the princesses received gift boxes filled with beauty treatment necessities…
…you know, nail polish, a facial mask, manicure set, lip gloss, and jewelry. All that good stuff.
The table was all ready and waiting for the pretty ladies when they arrived. The weather didn’t cooperate, so the princesses were forced to take cover under the awning of the spa so as not to disturb their hair and makeup. But, little princesses don’t mind changing their plans on a whim. A princess must be patient and flexible.
After taking some time to refresh and re-apply lip gloss, the princesses awaited their manicures and pedicures.
The lovely spa attendants gave each princess a manicure. (Thanks to my wonderful friend Angel for helping make this perfect day possible!)
There were nail stickers to fancy things up even more.
Some of the royal little ladies helped paint the others’ nails, because a princess always comes to another princess’s aid, especially when it is in regards to grooming.
Each princess also received a beautiful jeweled crown for her perfect, beautiful head.
After manicures, they showed their delicate toes for some polish. The princesses had apparently purchased the package deal, because why not make a day of it?
Sweet Rapunzel was very pleased with the manicure results. Her nails even matched her gown and crown! A princess always color coordinates.
Little Mermaid also couldn’t help but crack a smile. That’s what beautiful nails will do to you.
We actually just returned from a trip to Disneyland where this little one was absolutely mesmerized by all the princesses.
“Rella”, as she calls her, was her pick of the trip, though.
The perfect end to their spa date was receiving relaxing facials while Sleeping Beauty played on the big screen in front of them. I made each princess a pillow to rest her pretty head while the facial cream set.
Sleeping Beauty has emerged from the vaults once more and is available on DVD and Blu-ray at Walmart. I snatched a copy for my family before Sleeping Beauty goes to sleep again.
The sleeping beauties slept rested while they were given facials to rejuvenate and illuminate their skin.
A princess must always pay utmost attention to her complexion.
The spa day ended with Flora, Fauna, Merryweather, and all the princess’ favorite friends from Sleeping Beauty.
I used hot pink wrapping paper for the backdrop, a princess table liner, and a Disney princess cardboard chandeleir (also from Walmart) for an embellishment. I made a few simple tissue paper pom poms to hang as well.
And thus concluded the royal celebration. It was an event the princesses won’t soon forget!
Princess parties are way too fun and just beg to be partnered with spa activities and Disney princess movie watching! I hope you enjoyed all the fun details of our Sleeping Beauty Party!
