A Smart Snack Idea with Yoplait®

When hunger hits between meals, I like to reach for wholesome yet satisfying snacks like today’s orange yogurt fruit plate!

I’m trying to help my kids eat a well-balanced diet every day, including omitting most of the junk food and replacing it with fresh fruits and veggies. We also have a goal to drink more water in place of sugary drinks.With summer being in full swing, the junk food snacking has gotten out of hand! Maybe you can relate. 🙂 I was tired of catching my kids with a handful of chips when those morning or afternoon munchies hit, so I’m doing my part to purchase less of the poor food choices and instead fill the refrigerator with quickly grab-able fruits and lots of Yoplait® Yogurt.

I figure if I make it easy for them to eat right and offer more smart snack choices that are also yummy, they’ll surely pick those over the other much less optimal ones. I love that Yoplait® offers lots of fun flavors and varieties, so snack time is never mundane.

Quite the contrary, in fact. We get SO excited to grab a yogurt and pair it with a plethora of gorgeous fresh fruits on a platter. It’s fun to use the yogurt as a dip or even make a bowl with a hollowed-out orange half! The kids thought this was so clever and gobbled everything right up, even licking the orange bowl clean! 🙂

I just cut an orange in half and then used a grapefruit spoon to clean the inside out. We of course ate the leftover orange piece, because we wouldn’t want good food to go to waste!Then, I filled the “bowl” with Yoplait® Light Strawberry Orange Smoothie Yogurt, but any flavor would do, of course. Each bite had a little surprise boost of orange flavor kindly contributed by the orange peel that it was in. Mmmmmm….mmmmmm…..good! And it held us over until our next meal!

My kids especially love the Yoplait® Gogurt®, but when we’re at Walmart, we always grab a few of every kind, including Original, Light and Greek, just for kicks.

I’m sure my kids will be enjoying this time and time again, including as a perfect “schools-out refreshment” in just a few weeks! It’s so easy to make snack time fun and interesting with Yoplait®!
