Get the kids excited to hit the books again with this fun Back to School Breakfast Party! It’s so simple to set up and is sure to create memories galore before the kids grab their backpacks and head out to catch the bus!
We have a standing family tradition around our house where we have a little Back to School Celebration on the kids’ first day. They really look forward to it. It’s never elaborate or complex, but it’s always special.
And it’s a great way to send the kids off to start a new school year with full tummies and smiles on their faces!
I can’t believe I’ve got a fifth grader, a second grader and a preschooler this time! It’s unreal. We’ve checked off all the items on our school supply and clothes list, and we’re ready to go full speed ahead, especially after our scrumptious breakfast bash!
This year I thought it would be fun to put together a quick breakfast bar, complete with creamy, yummy Horizon® Yogurt, colorful school supply decor, muffins and a pretty fruit platter!
While I was shopping at Walmart for back to school supplies, I stocked up on Horizon Yogurt, just in time for our morning party! It’s easy to find on the yogurt aisle. Just look for the bright red labels!
My kids love to enjoy Horizon Yogurt straight out of the cup, in their lunch box, as after school snacks, and as part of their breakfast! I think it’s safe to say they just have to have it, no matter what time of day!
Each delicious spoonful offers live and active cultures and it’s something I, as a mother, can really feel good handing to my kids when they’re begging for a snack.
My kids love all the flavors…I don’t think we can pick a favorite! We also like to add it to fruit to make a salad and it’s so good in smoothies!
This simple setup won’t make you break a sweat, even on a busy school morning! Let me show you how easy it is to accomplish!
I arranged everything on our kitchen counter so the kids could have easy access to the goods. 🙂
I grabbed a globe that was decorating my shelf, some pencils that we’ll be sending with the kids for use in their classroom, a green apple, some colorful books from our library and a mini chalkboard. I love using items that I already have around the house to save some extra bucks!
I thought “3 Cheers 4 School” was a great pep phrase to get the kids geared up for another year of school.
I placed the Horizon Yogurt in a wire basket that I turned on its side. I made some chocolate muffins the evening before and bought some blueberry muffins so there was a nice variety to offer. Lastly, I cut up some fresh fruit and served it on a pretty white platter.
I’m telling you, this took about fifteen minutes to throw together! And you should have seen the kids’ eyes grow to the size of saucers when they saw it! 🙂 It just goes to show that it’s the little things that really count!
Here’s to a successful, memorable school year! I can’t wait to watch my kids learn and grow! We always take a “First Day” and a “Last Day” of school photo, and it’s amazing the changes that happen over the course of those months!
What special traditions do you have on the first day of school with your kids? What are your best tips for helping your kids get “pumped up” for another school year? I’d love to hear your ideas in the comments section!
