I’m boiling over with excitement today to share with you this creepy but fun Spider Halloween Wreath craft that I made on-the-cheap using items from the Dollar Store! Be sure to scroll down for 20 more fantastic Halloween ideas from other bloggers!
I pride myself on creating inexpensive crafts, because I can’t bear to pay more to DIY than to simply purchase it at the store. Are you the same way?
I’m a firm believer that decor doesn’t have to/shouldn’t be expensive, and this piece certainly isn’t. I threw it together for around $4! That’s what I call a bargain! But the best part is that you’d never know it, because it’s pretty darn cute, at least in my humble opinion. 🙂
Everything you see on the wreath is from the Dollar Tree except the mini burlap banner.
Here’s what you’ll need to complete this Halloween craft:
{SUPPLIES}
=A wreath form
=Halloween fabric to wrap the wreath (mine is actually two gingham scarves)
=Large spiders
=Webbing and a few small spiders (mine came in the same package)
=(Optional) A scrap of burlap for the bunting, black paint, alphabet stencils or a craft cutting machine, and string
-Glue Gun
-Scissors
Begin by wrapping your wreath form all the way around with the fabric. Glue the beginning of the strip to the wreath and then the very end of the strip.
Now add your webbing. I tore off a small piece and “wrapped” it around my wreath, then hot glued it in back. I then trimmed any portions that showed from the back.
Now add your spiders! I ended up cutting off the backs of the small spiders (the ring portion) and then hot gluing the spiders to the web, just to ensure they’ll stay put. I also hot glued the large spider to the wreath form.
This part is totally optional, but I think adds an extra cute factor. To make your burlap banner, simply cut four very small triangles with your burlap, then lay your letter stencils over the top (in my case it was sticky vinyl that I cut using my Silhouette)…
…then blot in black paint for each of the letters.
Now hot glue your letter pennants to the string.
Glue the banner to the back of the wreath, and you’re done!
Now hang it on your front door or display it on a hay bale like I did, on the front porch! Either way it’s a definite eye-catcher that just might give you the heebie jeebies, but that’s what Halloween is for, right?!
