Inspired by Flowers: Monochromatic Spring Decor

I’m getting so excited for spring!  How about you? Probably my favorite time of year is when the pretty pink blossoms show themselves on the trees, giving the illusion of popcorn popping.
Flowers are the first exciting indicator to me that spring is on its way.  Not only are they pretty and wonderful-smelling, but flowers can also be the source of so much inspiration in our lives!  Their colors and textures can serve as the basis for home decor elements, party planning, and even edible arrays!  Often a floral piece acts as the focal point, or leader, upon which all other decor components depend.  Flowers can, in essence, “tie” a room together.
I’m in need of some fresh, bright decor in my home to usher out winter and welcome the glorious new season that’s about to dawn.  According to Proflowers, single-serving bouquets, as shown below in the collage below, are going to be popular, and I know why!  Aren’t they beautiful?

Go here to see other predicted floral trends.

I’m attracted to and inspired by simple, elegant designs-especially those with monochromatic color schemes, just like those shown above.  You might say I’m very “matchy-matchy”.  I admire those who are daring and bold in their decor, but I’m definitely not one of them.
I enjoy updating my home decor regularly by adding in seasonal elements and colors.  There’s not much more eye-catching than a mantel, shelf, or end table that’s been freshly adorned with on-trend pieces.
That being said, decorating in line with the season doesn’t have to be expensive or elaborate.  On the contrary, it can be accomplished with a few up-cycled sofa pillows, a newly-spray painted vase filled with freshly-picked garden flowers, a simple table-runner, a different frame on a picture or photo that was already being displayed, or a stack of colorful antique books.
In keeping with my personal style and preference, I’ve compiled a collage of beautiful spring decor ideas, to use as a basis of inspiration to help enliven the home.

This gorgeous bright white kitchen is perfectly complimented by the pop of color from the three flower vases on the island.

Loving this frame collage display and the color-matching patterned stool.

What a fun room!  The intermixing of patterns and textures really makes the all-green color scheme intriguing.

I’m absolutely loving the mint cabinets with the correlating green tile backsplash.

Notice the bookshelves in this entryway with the big green vases, the green coffee table, and perfectly-complimenting green painting over the mantel.  I especially appreciate how the green is not overwhelming, yet adds important pops of color to this home.

This floral arrangement is so simple, yet still captivating because of the intermixing of white flower varieties.

This sunny yellow arrangement is simply enchanting! I love how the roses on the bottom seem to hug the other flowers in the center.  This is a perfect example of how all-one-color doesn’t have to be boring!

Such a fun and cheerful yellow bedroom!  This is another example of how simply interspersing patterns and varying hues of the same color can really contribute to the attractiveness of a space.

The monochromatic ceramic bowls are such an eye-catching focal point for this dining area.

This green living room has an almost retro feel.  I’m loving the striped sofas!

This pretty, monochromatic bookcase still has great appeal because of the candles and curvatures of the wood up top.  The backwards books are obviously not functional, but add to the modern, artsy theme.

Isn’t this yellow kitchen just so happy? The fun yellow gingham towel, along with the lemons, are subtle yet perfect additions.
Apparently I’m in love with green and yellow. 🙂 They’re such clean, happy colors, which to me just scream spring.  I had so much fun browsing Pinterest for fresh inspiration! These are all very magazine-worthy photos, but the ideas and concepts behind them can still be applied in your own home.  Giving furniture a fresh coat of paint, adding color to a kitchen by displaying pretty dishware or a vase of flowers, or creating a wall with a collection of various-shaped, colored frames can go a long way to enlivening and renewing a space!

Do you swap out your decor with the changing seasons?

What spring color schemes inspire you?

Wonderfully inspiring photos! I love monochromatic floral arrangements, but that's about where it stops. I'm a "mix it up with color" type person.
