We’ve been hosting quite a few friends and extended family members lately at our house, and it’s been so much fun! We love having company! In fact, we’re always encouraging our friends who have moved away, and family members who live out of state, to plan a trip out to see us if they can. 🙂 “Encouraging” might be a little understatement. We have our ways of not-so-subtly convincing them to pay us a visit. 🙂 We think we live in a pretty fun place and love to share it with others!
Since they’ve typically driven or flown many miles by the time they arrive, we always like to show them a good time by taking them to our favorite places to eat, and hitting the town for lots of great entertainment! We pride ourselves in making our guests’ visit as memorable and comfortable as possible while they are in our care! Something I always strive to do when hosting is to create an atmosphere where guests can feel completely at home. I want them to be free to kick back, relax, and enjoy themselves to the max!
I’ve been that guest who has failed to pack the toothbrush or deodorant on occasion, so I came up with this thoughtful gift basket to present to our guests when they come to stay. I filled it with hygiene items and bathroom necessities, just in case they had a forgetful moment like I sometimes do in all the chaos of getting ready to travel.

Download and print your free “Make Yourself at Home” tags here. *Printables are for personal use only, please. For best results, print on white cardstock. I punched holes in the tag and attached it to the basket with jute, then trimmed the excess.
Stuff every nook and cranny of the basket with essentials your guests will need during their stay! I included items such as face wash, face wipes, lotion, shampoo/conditioner, razors, toothbrush/paste, a hair brush, deodorant, lip balm, shaving cream, dental floss, hair spray, and body wash. Using travel size items is great because they can pack them up later without occupying much space in their luggage, or fly home with them in a carry-on. Feel free to add items as you deem necessary! The goal is to help the guests feel like they are at their home away from home. 🙂 There’s no greater compliment than when they say they want to come back again soon! That’s when I give myself a high five for a job well done. 🙂
