This bow may look complicated, but it comes together in just minutes and is a great way to add that personal touch. I love that you can either make it all one color or switch things up with coordinating colors and patterns in the two layers. It’s too fun!
Here’s how to make it:
You’ll need:
Cardstock (one or two colors/patterns)
Glue (I used both a stick and liquid school glue)
Paper Cutter or ruler and scissors
A circle punch (I ended up using a 1 1/4″ punch)
A button for the center
Begin by cutting 4 (1 1/2″ wide by 12″) strips in the cardstock that you’d like to be the bottom layer of the bow. Fold both ends to the center so you have an overlap of about 1″. Glue the pieces together at the overlap, then glue the top part to the bottom where it comes together in the center. Repeat for all the strips. Glue two pieces together in a cross, then add another at the diagonal, gluing in place, then the last one at the opposite diagonal and glue in place.
Repeat the process for the next color of cardstock that will be your top layer. You’ll cut four strips to be 3/4″ wide by 8″ tall. Glue them to each other at criss crosses and then glue them to the first layer. Punch a circle and glue it to the center, then glue your button on top of that. That’s how to make a simple paper bow! I told you it was easy!
Now wrap that perfect gift and give it a beautiful finishing touch with this pretty DIY paper bow! I’m itching to make one in every possible color now!
