Call the kids over for a fun and colorful paper plate finger-painted snail craft! Then, don’t worry about the mess, because clean up is made easy with Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth!

This past weekend we had a surprise spring snow storm (we’re talking 6″) that interrupted our Saturday plans.  We were not about to brave the roads. So the kids played out in it for a little while and when they were frozen to the bone, they came in and we made a fun craft! It’s one of our favorite ways to spend time together. It always provides lots of laughs and smiles, even when we’re tempted to frown about the mounds of snow that are covering our grass and flowers outside.

The kids were ecstatic to get to paint with their fingers!

As much as I love when my kids are being creative, I can’t say that I equally enjoy the aftermath. I’m really trying to work on suppressing my clean freak tendencies when the situation calls for it and letting kids be kids instead of being concerned about a silly mess. I’m usually a little on edge about the inherent spills throughout the process.

But not this time!

I knew I’d be able to easily wipe up the paint explosion with my new Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth! I love that it has two sides-one with textured scrubbing dots and one without, so I can tackle any mess across a variety of surfaces.  It’s fully washable and reusable and provides scrubbing power without scratching.

I love that I don’t have to use my fingernails to scrape off dried paint because that’s what the scrubbing dots are for!  In one line, it’s The Dish Cloth. Reinvented.

This is why I choose team dish cloth. You can pick a team, too, in the scrubstakes.

It’s available in 2-packs in Tan, Navy, Gray, Mint, Coral. I just had to have the coral because it gives me all the good spring feels, even when there’s snow outside. 🙂

These dish cloths are so easy to find on the cleaning aisle at Walmart.

IMG_4750 I kept my Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth handy while the kids were busy crafting at the counter for quick and easy cleanup.

You’ll need:

Washable kids’ paint

Googly eyes

Paper plates

Scissors, liquid school glue, and clear tape

Pipe cleaners

Let the kids use their little fingers to paint those plates to their heart’s content. And don’t sweat the colorful splatters and smears, because Scotch-Brite® Scrubbing Dish Cloth has it covered!

Allow the paint to dry completely, then cut in a spiral direction on the plate, starting from the outside and working your way to the center. I cut a little half circle when I started for the head. Trim off a thin piece that leads up to the head, just to even things out on top. Cut two small pieces of pipe cleaner and tape them on the back of the head. Now glue on two googly eyes, and you’re done!

Aren’t these just the cutest little guys?! The kids were not even bummed about missing out on our Saturday plans because of the snow. This Paper Plate Snail craft really brightened their day and I was one happy mama about the easy cleanup!

What’s your best advice for keeping calm and collected when kids are making a gigantic crafting mess? I’d love to hear!
