Three-Cheese Stuffed Hamburgers on Homemade Buns

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.
Do you enjoy a good cheeseburger?  Well, have I got a mouthwatering Three-Cheese Stuffed Homemade Hamburger for you using easy-to-find Kraft ingredients!  Today’s phenomenal recipe is a fun and tasty spin on the typical cheese-topped burger.  It’s an incredible creation that’s packed with oodles of flavor from two cheeses and roasted red peppers, then piled high with melty Chipotle White Cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard, mayo…basically whatever garnishes and sauces your heart desires!
I love to fire up the grill and throw together a memorable dinner, and these burgers are certainly that.  Your taste buds won’t soon forget the privilege they had of experiencing this!

In one word, this burger is AMAZING…as good as it looks times a hundred!  Move over restaurant gourmet burgers, because this one takes the cake!  Combined with soft, fresh handmade buns, it’s nothing short of perfection.
I grabbed the ingredients during my weekly shopping trip to Walmart, and let me tell you, it was an adventure as usual.  🙂  What do a screaming, fit-throwing baby, a projectile tub of cottage cheese, and a cupcake sample have in common?  One frazzled, embarrassed mama, a child in need of a bath, and a scrambling team of Walmart workers with rags and spray bottles in hand!  I’m sure we were quite the entertaining sight for onlookers.  There’s never a dull moment with children. 🙂
But this fantastic dinner made it all worth it!

Look at that oozing cheese!  I thanked myself for every moment spent preparing this succulent stack of goodness.

The homemade buns add an important and extra yummy factor to the burgers, so if you’ve got the time, I highly recommend baking up a batch.
I’ve got to say that I’ve never made hamburger buns from scratch before, but I’ll be making these again and again from here on out!  They require very little effort, but some fore-thought and time (only because of the raising process), but I love that I know what’s going into them and they taste much better than store-bought too!  Plus, we all have those days when we need a burger pronto, but we don’t feel like making the extra trip out to grab the buns.  Hello homemade!

{HOMEMADE HAMBURGER BUNS}
Yield: 8 buns

1 c. warm water
2 1/2 tsp. yeast
2 T. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 T. butter, softened
2 1/2 c.-2 3/4 c. bread flour

Add warm water and yeast to the bowl of an electric mixer.  Immediately start adding the next ingredients. Add sugar, salt, egg, softened butter and 2 c. flour.  Mix on low until mixture is wet throughout, then turn to medium speed.  Add 1/2 c. more flour, then mix until the dough starts cleaning the sides of the bowl.  Add 1/4 c. more flour, if necessary, but mine was perfect at 2 1/2 c.  Dough should be slightly sticky.  Cover with plastic wrap or a warm dish towel and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

Separate dough into 8 equal-sized pieces, then roll into balls and place on a greased or parchment-lined cookie sheet.

Smash the dough balls flat with the palm of your hand.  You can press in sesame seeds at this point, if you’d like.

Let rise again until puffy, about 1 1/2 hours.

Homemade Buns
Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 12 minutes, or until golden brown in color.  Immediately after pulling them from the oven, brush the tops with butter.  Slice each roll in half to create the top and bottom of the bun.
Now, to make the cheeseburgers, you’ll need these basic components, along with a few others.

{THREE-CHEESE STUFFED HAMBURGERS}
Yield: 8 hamburgers

2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2-3 tsp. Kraft Ranch Dressing Mix (dry from the packet), plus more for sprinkling

2 c. Kraft Triple Cheddar Shredded Cheese
1 c. roasted red peppers, chopped
8 oz. Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened
8 slices Kraft Naturals Chipotle White Cheddar Cheese

In a large bowl, with your hands, mix together ground beef, salt, pepper, and 2-3 tsp. Ranch Dressing Mix (depending on how much flavor you like).  In a separate bowl, combine Triple Cheddar Shredded Cheese, roasted red peppers, and cream cheese.

Form 16 thin, large patties.  They’ll shrink as you grill them, so make them about the size shown above.  If they’re too thick, they won’t cook evenly, so be sure to make them about the thickness shown above as well.

Spread a layer of cheese filling on 8 patties, staying within 3/4″ of the edges.

Top each of the 8 patties with a plain patty and press around the edges with your fingers.  Sprinkle the tops with Ranch Dressing Mix.  Grill on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes on each side. A few minutes before the patties are done, place a slice of Chipotle White Cheddar cheese on each.  Toast the buns on the grill for a few minutes, too, if you’d like.
If you’d rather not stuff the burgers, simply make the patties the thickness that you normally would and spread the cheese filling on top of the cooked portion after turning the burgers once.

Can you #SayCheeseburger? Now this is what I’m talking about!

Get ahead of the game and stuff them early on, then grill later!

A “wow” in every bite, and oh-so-yummy-to-the-tummy, this Three-Cheese Stuffed Hamburger is a must-make!  Spread on some Kraft Honey Hickory Smoke Barbecue Sauce (a favorite of ours), layer on the toppings, serve with a side or two and enjoy!
