Three Ways Play Time Helps Kids Acquire Life Skills

When kids play with toys they get creative, work together and learn something in the process! At least that’s what we’ve found to be true at our house!

I’ll be the first to admit that my kids have their fair share of squabbles. But some of the times when my mama heart is most warmed are when I see them smiling and playing with toys together. There’s something about sitting next to each other and entering the world of “make believe” that really allows them to bond or at least find common ground for the time being. 🙂 Plus, I’ve witnessed first-hand the impact play time has on my kids’ creativity.

My kids always get excited to come home from school and bring out the PLAYMOBIL toys! Talk about happiness in a box! They sprawl out on the living room floor and, from the next room over, I hear them making animal noises with their PLAYMOBIL Large City Zoo or capturing the bad guys with their PLAYMOBIL Take Along Police Station. The fun doesn’t stop! There are endless opportunities for kids to use their imagination in every set!

Here are three ways play time helps kids develop important life skills!

  1. Play time encourages creativity. I’ve always been a firm believer that play time is key in developing imagination in children as they enter the world of “make believe” in zoo keeping or working at the station.

2. Playtime encourages kids to work together. The impact play time has on strengthening social skills is noteworthy! Kids learn to communicate in both pretend and real life situations. Role play is not only fun, but it’s an important part of the development process in children.

I encourage my kids to pull out the toys when they have free time because they come away from it with beaming faces and pleasant stories to tell. I’ve also found that they get along better while they’re working towards a common cause (i.e. to run a zoo or maintaining order and peace in the city). It’s all about teamwork! 🙂

The amount of detail in each PLAYMOBIL set is incredible! Just look at that cute desk, computer and the jail cell! These are some of those great quality toys that will provide my kids with hours and hours of entertainment. And I know my children’s children will be playing with them many years down the road because they are built to last!

Be sure to check out this social hub to explore all the many PLAYMOBIL options!

After play time, the PLAYMOBIL Take Along Police Station closes up and easily transports from location to location!

There are so many options available at Walmart for PLAYMOBIL fun! The tough part is choosing which one! These would make great holiday gifts too!

And finally…

3.  Playtime provides learning opportunities! When children play, they are equipping themselves with hands-on experience. This experience in turn provides them with the confidence to make better sense of the world around them, tackle new challenges, interact in new situations, and thrive in different environments.

Whether putting the animals in the pen or selling items at the concessions, there’s something for everyone to do and learn with PLAYMOBIL! It makes me so happy to see my kids bonding and building skills during play!
