A Slam Dunk Easy Lasagna Dinner with #NewFavorites from Stouffer’s!

I am a member of the Collective Bias®  Social Fabric® Community.  This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.
I don’t know about you, but I’m always up for easy meal ideas, specifically when it comes to dinner. Evenings are so chaotic around our house between homework, music practice, grabbing a few bites to eat and cleaning up. Trying to squeeze in a little family time somewhere in the mix proves difficult! Can you relate?
We are total pasta lovers and Stouffer’s Lasagna is our go-to, at-home quick pasta fix. Eating out can get so expensive, but eating in doesn’t have to be a ton of work and can still taste fabulous!
I judge a slam-dunk dinner according to how well my kids eat it, and this one didn’t disappoint.
Speaking of slam dunk, with basketball season in full swing, who wants to be slaving over a hot stove when your favorite team is in the middle of an intense game where the stakes are unbelievably high? If your mind is overly occupied with dinner, you might miss an awesome shot, and we wouldn’t want that. 🙂
If I have any regrets from my high school days, it’s definitely that I didn’t get involved in extracurricular athletics. I should have tried out for the track and basketball teams. I’ve always loved to run, and though I couldn’t do a slam dunk, I was very precise in my free-throws and even three-pointers back then. Academics consumed my time, but I know I would have benefited greatly from taking a break from the books to let loose on the court or put feet to the pavement.
There is, however, one thing that I don’t regret, and that’s my recent Meat Lover’s Lasagna purchase at Walmart. Do you enjoy a good protein-packed meal? If so, you’ll probably want to take a look at the cute model above (I don’t see how you could help yourself anyway). 🙂

I grabbed a box of Texas Toast as well, for this next part.
Do you watch basketball?  It requires almost no extra work to carry the basketball theme from your TV to your dinner plate.  The cheesy garlic bread circles are incredibly easy to pull off and they’ll leave you wanting for more!  Or, if you’re like me and enjoy playing basketball instead, this is still a unique way to switch dinner up a bit from the norm.
Grab your frozen Texas Toast and bake according to package directions.  It only takes a couple minutes!

Next, using a small circle cookie cutter, cut circles out of your Texas Toast.  You may be able to fit two per slice, if you’re careful.  Don’t throw out the extras, though!  Good food should never go to waste, in my opinion.  You can chop and make them into croutons for your green salad!

Use some cheddar cheese spray to create basketball lines on your garlic bread circle.  They’re fun and addicting!

This is one happy little boy with his plate full of pasta and cheesy garlic bread.  I’d call it a slam dunk! The salad is a different story.  I wish my kids wouldn’t fight me on the veggies.  If you have pointers or a magical method, please share.  I’m all ears. 🙂
If you’re a regular reader here, you know that I love my food full-of-flavor, which this is.  I’ve also got a very hungry husband and a growing little boy to keep satisfied, and thanks to the added protein, the lasagna does that too.
I served it up with garlic bread basketballs, a green salad sprinkled with chopped baby carrots (to look like mini basketballs), a fresh fruit, and called it a balanced meal!  I’ve found that my kids are much more likely to eat dinner if it’s “fun”, and what children can resist a mini slice of cheesy basketball garlic bread on top of a tasty piece of lasagna?  Mine couldn’t say no.

Yum!  Now you can enjoy watching the champions play while eating like a champ from the comfort of your own sofa, if that’s what you like to do.  But after dinner, you can find me on my backyard court brushing up on free-throws.  I’m a little rusty, to say the least.
This slam-dunk meal is sure to be a hit with your team at home!  It was with mine!

Swoosh!

I saw that Shop and for my life couldn't come up with any creative way to incorporate basketball...I LOVE what you did! Especially saying the carrots were mini basketballs. Great idea!!! (Now I want lasagna...and have the urge to fill out a bracket...) :)
