Kids will enjoy making a Candy Corn Milkshake with pretty yellow, orange and white layers, for a fun Halloween treat! I can’t wait to share this perfect after school snack or party dessert idea with you today!

We are gearing up for Halloween around here! The kids have settled on their costumes and now we are in the preparation phase. Some will be semi-homemade and some store-bought, some will come straight from their closet dress-up stash. But they all will be amazing, I know.

Each of the kids will take turns going to the pumpkin patch with their classes on a field trip this month. They’re so excited! And, we are ecstatic about our annual town balloon fiesta that begins next week! The school fall festival is coming up soon too. There are so many fun activities going on this time of year. It really is a wonderful season!

One of the things we most look forward to about any holiday is making special treats to enjoy. The kids always love joining me in the kitchen when I’m cooking and baking, and I love finding ways to involve them. This is a simple enough recipe (with just a few ingredients and steps) that they basically did it themselves! It makes my heart happy to stand back and watch my kids get creative in the kitchen.

They measured and added the vanilla ice cream to a blender, then poured in the milk and vanilla and pressed go!

Then they separated it out evenly into three different bowls and added the yellow and orange food coloring.

Lastly, they poured each one into a mason jar into colorful layers, topped it with some whipped cream and sprinkles and added festive paper straws.

When we saw these Eggo Spider-Man Mixed Berry Marvel waffles at Walmart the other day, we knew they would complete our Halloween snack! The webs totally fit with our theme.

Eggo waffles and pancakes now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources. And they are just so yummy! We are obsessed. My kids enjoy them all throughout the day, no matter the time. They are a perfect snack!

Delicious News! Eggo waffles and pancakes now have no artificial flavors and colors from natural sources.

Eggo Spider-Man Mixed Berry Marvel are easy to find on the frozen breakfast foods aisle at Walmart.

Don’t miss out on this great Ibotta offer!

My kids really get excited when they walk in the door after a long day at school and see a special snack like this waiting for them. I always say, it’s the little things that really count and help make memories!

Servings 1 pint-sized mason jar or a few smaller cup-sized milkshakes

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream softened slightly
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 4-6 drops yellow and orange food coloring
  • Small mason jars or clear cups

Instructions

  • Add the ice cream, vanilla extract and milk to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Quickly separate the mixture evenly between three bowls. Leave one white, add yellow food coloring to one bowl, and orange to the last bowl. Stir well.
  • First pour white layer into jar or cup, spread it with a spoon, then do the same with the orange and finish with the yellow, spreading them with a spoon before pouring the next.
  • Finish with a big dollop of whipped cream or whipped topping and sprinkles and enjoy immediately.

Notes

The trick with this milkshake is to work really quickly, as the ice cream will melt and the layers will run together in a hurry. Be sure to have all of your ingredients and supplies ready before you begin.
