These adorable DIY Spiderweb Knee Patches are sure to catch the eyes of all the kids on the playground this Halloween time. These are pretty much the “coolest kid on the block” badges. 🙂
We love all things Halloween at our house. We pretty much talk about it and plan for it year-round. It’s such an exciting time of year. My kids don’t even really eat the trick-or-treating candy, but they sure get a kick out of dressing up, our annual trip to the pumpkin patch, and lots of spooky parties!
What’s your favorite part about Halloween?
From our dress to our decor to even our meals…everything turns Halloween at the end of September around these parts, and it’s all I can do to hold out until then. It’s just too fun!
So I decided to make my daughter some festive spiderweb leggings to go with an orange skirt that she’ll be wearing to school.
{SUPPLIES}: I used my handy dandy Silhouette machine and some flocked white Heat Transfer Material, along with a pair of inexpensive black leggings from Walmart. That was it!
Start by creating your design in Silhouette Studio. I measured about how big I wanted the patches beforehand. I purchased a design from the Silhouette Shop. Next, cut it according to the instructions provided on the Heat Transfer Material box.
Once your design is cut, remove the negative space. The hook makes this loads easier!
You should be left with only what you want to transfer to the leggings. It will be on the clear sheet.
Now lay the design down on your leggings, over where the child’s knees will be, with the plastic sheet on top. Lay a cloth over the top. Set your iron on a cotton setting and press firmly down with your iron for 45-60 seconds, or until the plastic sheet peels away easily.
Ta da! This is a super quick project and isn’t it just the bees (I mean the spiders) knees? Ha! Pardon my pun. 🙂
I’m dying over how cute these are!
Happy Halloween Crafting!
