I get totally giddy when readers submit their fun projects here on I Dig Pinterest. It’s seriously like Christmas morning to me when I see those fabulous creations in my inbox. 🙂 There’s so much talent out there, and I’d LOVE to see more of what you’re working on! So inspiring.
Today’s post comes from my friend, Michelle, who saw an idea on Pinterest for a Welcome Sign from a Cabinet Door and replicated it in a different color, for her own home.
Don’t you just love it? Such a great color!
Here’s how she did it, in her words:
I found this red welcome sign on Pinterest and wanted to make one for my porch. I went to Habitat for Humanity Restore and found cabinet doors for just $1.50 each! |
I brought them home and sanded them down. I decided to use one for my sign. I spray painted it yellow (color: Caramel Honey in flat by Valspar) then used a black glaze to add some extra pop to it.
After it was dry I used the vinyl I cut out on my silhouette machine. I measured and marked with pencil to make sure it was straight and centered and applied it.

Then sealed it with Mod Podge since it will be outside.
I love that it ads color to my front porch! It was so easy and turned out so cute!
