Have you ever had cabin fever? It’s a little different from the average flu. I’ll take it over full body aches and pains, chills, and spiking temperatures, but it’s still far from ideal! It’s usually around this time of year (January and February especially) when I start catching that itch to escape…to get away from the freezing temperatures and leave the “norm” of the everyday behind for a bit and go on an adventure!
Don’t get me wrong…I love cozy-ing up inside, bundled in my sweater, sweat pants and slippers while watching the snow fall. Being cooped up gives me a great excuse to craft and bake, with few distractions (other than three small, sometimes very needy children). But there’s only so much “cold” that I can take before I long for that warm yellow sun to show its face once more. Since spring isn’t on the horizon for many months, I often find myself dreaming of a far-off place. I’m lounging in my bathing suit, catching some rays while lazily reading a book and sipping pink lemonade with my toes sifting through gorgeous white sand and a refreshing ocean breeze blowing through my carefree hair. Aaaahhhhh…I can hear it beckoning.
So…have you caught the fever yet?
Is that a yes?
Well, I’ve got good news! Puerto Rico called and it’s ready for us!
It’s a five-star vacation destination filled with world-class attractions. With coastline spanning 270 miles, you’re sure to find a perfect location to surf (or if you’re like me, to boogey board). But don’t overlook a much-needed nap or even building a sand castle on Flamenco Beach…cited as one of the best in the world. Then head out to snorkel in the beautiful, clear blue ocean waters or glow like an angel in the Bioluminescent bays. So cool!
If that’s not enough, climb to the clouds in the El Yunque rainforest! Or for all you history buffs, enjoy the old world charm of San Juan.
If you’re up for an adventure, go horseback riding or explore the magnificent Camuy caverns that run through the third largest subterranean river in the world! Foodies like me can experience the delicacies of Puerto Rican gastronomy. There’s something for everyone and plenty of fun to fill the itinerary!
You can Live your own 5-star vacation story in Puerto Rico. The beaches look so welcoming right about now as I look outside and see snow on the ground.
