Glitter Easter Eggs Kids’ Craft

My kids wanted to take on a fun Easter Craft Project the other day, so we decided to make some fun Glitter Eggs.  They’re so easy and only require a few simple, inexpensive supplies!  We had a blast coming up with new ways to use double-sided tape to create new, fun designs!

Aren’t they cute?

{SUPPLIES}
Idea adapted from Family Circle

Large Plastic Eggs
Double-Sided Adhesive Tape
Glitter in Assorted Colors
Small paintbrush

Pour each color of glitter in a separate bowl.  We ended up transferring ours to paper plates, because it was easier to roll the eggs that way.

To create bands, wrap double-sided adhesive tape lengthwise or crosswise around egg and cut to fit.  Press firmly.

Roll in glitter, pressing firmly, beginning with the lightest color first.  I worked with one piece of tape at a time.  Don’t worry about getting glitter in the wrong places on the egg.  Remove excess glitter by first blowing off, then brushing egg with a soft, dry paintbrush.

Continue wrapping tape around or mix it up and do zig zags and polka dots.  Use your creativity! We made dots by using a hole punch on the adhesive double-sided tape.  For the zig zags, I just cut a bunch of strips around the same size and then overlapped them at the tops and bottoms.

Keep rolling until tape is completely covered in glitter.  Then repeat using more tape and creating a variety of designs until you’re satisfied with the look of your egg.

The kids love that they helped make a pretty Easter decoration for our home.

Have fun creating with kids!

    These are so creative! I like this idea much better than the traditional way. We always end up with broken eggs and dyed hands.
